So I for some reason am still suffering from pretty severe UI lag, the game itself is quite smooth but the UI feels as though I'm dragging my mouse through molasses. And this occurs on all graphical settings. I don't know if it's a network issue or a system issue but I'm hoping that someone might be able to provide some insight or solutions for me. Other than this the game is fantastic and I can't wait to enjoy it.

    My system info: Mac OS X 10.10 DP7, Intel Core i7 2.3GHz, 16GB ram, ATi Radeon 6750M 1GB. Connection speeds are 35mb up/5mb down.

Are your clicks registering right away?

If it's just the mouse movement speed that you're noticing, there is a setting to change its movement speed. I'm fairly that's your issue.

No, the mouse speed is fine, its the responsiveness of the UI, so for instance if I select my commander, hover my mouse over the metal extractor build option, it will take a solid 2-3 sec for it to highlight and select. The issue extends into the actual settings menu too, so if mid game I want to change one of my keyboard bindings, and I hover my mouse over an option, it too will take a while for the UI to catch up to the mouse movement.

Hmm. That sounds like UI lag for sure. Your hardware is more than up to spec. Are all of your drivers up to date so far as you can get them to be?

I assume so, I mean I'm on the absolute latest version of OS X and there aren't really 3rd party drivers for OS X as far as I know...

Mac OS X 10.10? I would say you are beyond the absolute latest version of OS X. Mac OS X 10.10 is still only a preview/beta version, isn't it? Uber almost certainly didn't test that version of OS X. Though I see no reason why that shouldn't work of course apart from OS bugs.

Can you check the Coherent logs to see if there is something odd going on there? You can find them in "~/Library/Application Support/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/logs", where the ~ means your home directory.

That was my initial thought as well, being a developer preview and all but from what I remember it was doing this in Mavericks too but I will check in a bit.

Thats the latest log file, not quite sure what I'm looking for in it so so if anyone could help me I'd be much obliged :-D

I also see horrible lag when moving mouse and scrolling the map in Galactic war star selection screen.

edit: I put fraps on, and it's showing 60 fps in menus. I don't know how that is possible, it really looks laggy.

Check your mouse settings in-game; unless your clicks are taking a noticeably long time to register, it likely isn't UI lag. (Not saying that it isn't in your case, but we need to start with the basics!)

I have not been able to play even one game from the start and i was hoping that with this release i would be able to play at least one game, but this release is even worse than the previous one. As far as i know this release would have enabled me to play "Offline" so that the units are not controlled by Uber server? I live in South Africa so our internet speeds are not that great. All my drivers are up to date and i am attaching my dx file if anyone would look to see if there is still a problem with my system. Thanks in advance.

Well, I was just looking for general errors that could cause such a lag. All I can see in your log are a bunch of shaders that have failed to compile. I.e.
    Code:
[14:32:02.713] INFO ERROR: Input of fragment shader 'v_Forward' not written by vertex shader
ERROR: Input of fragment shader 'v_Push' not written by vertex shader
[14:32:02.713] INFO Failed to link shader program for technique velocity
[14:32:02.714] INFO Failed to link shader program: vertex shader particle_quad_velocity_color.vs and pixel shader particle_soft.fs
It's hard to imagine that causing such a slow down though. Did websterx01's suggestion help you?

Well the only mouse movement setting I see is for mouse panning, is there another setting I should be looking for?

Huh, yeah that's odd. I think @websterx01 may have meant that one. Anyway, I think in the Mac OS settings there is something for mouse acceleration right? In the past that gave trouble. Can you try turning it off and see if that does anything? Also, can you try playing in windowed mode rather than full screen?

Sorry, this has nothing to do with how mouse moves, it's perfect. Mouse speed and acceleration are ok, and it's moving smoothly on the screen. Additionally, 1 CPU core is maxing out while in the menus. It is pretty weird, considering even this forum page is drawing heavier content than the game menus and map.

Here's recording that may or may not help you. Recording itself didn't have effect on the lag, it is like that even when not recording. And as i mentioned before, fraps showed that fps was 60. Recorded with Open Broadcaster Software.
