This is the second time this has happened to me. I'm sitting on my planet, feeling confident. I know where the enemy commander is. I've got a planet strapped up with engines and sending it to destroy him. Time to sit back and relax. Oh. Maybe I should have looked at the pathing of my planet bomb.
Brad Nicholson famously road a Halley'd moon into a planet. Thus, BOLO, Brad Only Lives Once, was born.
No that was pretty infamous. I remember it at the very least. I think it's funny because we all probably done it. I did it in a game, tossed my whole base into his base, except he had 2 planets, I had 1, and a longer travel time, so I was killed upon re-entry. However, someone else HAS clipped a planet before as collateral when launching a planet. Also came to forums to show it off. It was as hilarious as this. I assume by the chronocam view that you in fact clipped your commander's patch of planet. That is like MW2 using a predator missile to bring down a harrier overhead, just to miss it and bring it directly down into yourself. In a related note, I infamously ran around a corner in MW2, laid down flat prone with a riot shield and blast shield, called a predator missile in search and destroy 1v1 ending, and landed it right onto my own riot shield, killing him and not me (you survive direct impact to your shield if prone). Tell me THAT ain't fucked up. Someone donate me a DVR so I can youtube some this **** on GTA5 and such... THAT was a pointless reply, move on.
A couple days ago I cheerfully managed to take control of a metal planet, only to subsequently annihilaser the wrong target planet, namely the one my commander was on. So... yeah. I feel for ya.
