I know this was mentioned a long time ago, and was wondering if it was still on the table. After an AI only game ends, it would be awesome if we could view the replay, and select a spot to take over the game and continue playing. (Once a point is selected all the chronocam data after would be removed) This could allow you to play from a point a bad decision was made, and try a different strategy, or even relive great battles. An option to save the original replay, to continue playing at any spot, at a later time, would also be 'uber'.
A very good proposition, it would really help people who are training. I would suggest an option to take control of any replay in any time, it would also help during tournaments when someone looses connection. A similar thing was implemented in Starcraft 2 and it works fine
