Hi, I understand the philosophy of GW - "when your dead, your dead", but it has been hinted that it is the plans to add a save game option. So the question is - how long is it likely to be until it is added? I can't see myself playing much until it is - I find the game too difficult in 'normal' mode even, so it is too frustrating to play. If I know I can at least save the game when I feel I am in a 'good' position in the game then at least I have the option to try again, rather than just starting the whole GW over. The same applies to game against the AI - I know I can adjust the economy in my favour, but then the other aspects that are in GW are lost - like having limited tech, etc I am using build 70289, BTW - I have no idea how or if I can use anything later? Texy
Try to explore unattended systems first (hoping to find tech slots) and.. oh well cheat the system, if your commander is about to die close the game so you don't lose the Galactic War and you can retry, by getting on another planet with more resources or try different strategies.
Save is definitely coming, also there there is a possibility of replaying a game from a replay (e.g. wind to a good spot, then take over) which would be awesome...
As a temporary workaround, you can hit Alt-F4 to terminate PA if you're losing a GW battle. Then you can start PA up again and retry it.
Hi, I am aware of that, but that is not what I am asking about ;-) Alt-F4 loses that battle - I don't want to have to start again, I want to be able to re-load that battle from a certain point that I previously saved. Pretty standard stuff really. I am only interested in single play, I am generally crap at most games and need to take my time - the AI is too difficult/fast for me ;-( Texy
