...So that collateral damage occurs..... :D

SO the idea is the laser would do nuke-level (or small kew-level) damage on the second planet and stop there (not go through). (and preferably not destroy it.)

or maybe it just destroys both, f**k it!

I also propose having a (live! updating!) preview pop up when you move hovers above the target button of a planet : (planets keep spinning and the time till the laser is firing counts)

so that you can deviously align your targets.

    ...or avoid hitting your ally

EDIT : ALSO Gaz giants and suns should block your shots entirely.

This could be very interesting, it would bring situations like "should I fire now? Or should I wait for the next planet to align?"

Definitely should be a thing considering how rare this could be (unless rigged at a certain time frame)

If the answer to your question is "yes," then players can finally take out two planets or more with one laser, especially if there are commanders on each planet.

In other words, that's killing two birds with one stone.

I don't know. I like to think for the sake of gameplay that we are looking at a 3D system on a 2D plane, so can write off what looks like it should be collaterally destroyed as a perspective error.

maybe nuke-level damage on the second planet and then it stops there.

I voted no because i would prefer a double planet explosion. That laser looks powerfull enough to blow up more planets if they just happen to be in a straight line.

The way the laser looks now, and seeing as how it can fire cross-system without losing strength, I can't see why not. But if they make it actually work like that then it's reeeaalllly going to need a cooldown and other forms of balance.

But I don't think it should calculate what other planets it will hit for you.

Does it destroy orbital units in transit? It might also be a way to counter the invincible patrolling Astraeus trick.

well in a simulated-projectile game it's always great when you see the simulation at work by random things such as that occurring.

Lawl a bit overkill to kill the astraeus with a death laser. Though I admit I kinda like the idea :p

I'm glad I can reliably place bets on your reactions ^^

I don't know how a nuke blast is worse than the laser simply going through

I voted yes, if you shoot and the beam hits another planet at any point it also explodes

It should destroy both so that you can have that one guy that does not pay attention and destroys his foe's planet as well as his own/team's by accident. :D
