Yeah its pointless to have the green orbital layer on a planet that only has orbital. and it makes it hard to see the gas planets gas layer.

I wish the color of sand was randomly generated for other planets. Yellow or orange-red sand on desert planets, green blue or foggy white water, blue or white ice, grey or white mountains, lime or dark green forests...

But that would be both unintuitive and a random one-off case, which you have argued against for just about everything...

It produces 36 metal and 9000 energy.
And you can place them anywhere, so... yeah. Make sure to capture those gas giants.

There are two new units in the new build. One for mining energy and metal on gas planets and one for activating metal planets. The latter one works like haleys, but now you have a few fixed points on the planet to place them.

Are you sure you can't nuke gas giants? Can someone try nuking an enemy orbital unit?

According to some guys on TS, you can nuke Gas Giants. However, due to the cost of nukes and how much area the Jigs take up, it's probably not worth nuking.

they're too high up for the nuke to damage them either way.

they have to stay highr up or the gravity will pull them in.

Can't you just drop pockets of avengers onto the jigs? You could probably trade 10 avengers per jig and instakill a jig on landing and just drop 10 at a time per jig. Use chronocam and a radar or a bulk of astraei to scout for locations.

So even with an enemy with a gas giant, effort can migitate their advantage.

That would definitely be a good strategy.

So has anyone tried ignoring the Rebel base and attacking Yavin directly?

    Or planet smashing it?

    If so please post results.

No, you can nuke orbital units. The animation doesn't display right but they do deal damage all the way up there. Or are you saying Jigs are higher than orbital facs?

I'm saying units around gaz giants have higher orbits then around other planets. at least lore-wise. and with what would the nuke collide? the gaz?

Presumably it would collide with the unit you targeted. This isn't, well, I guess it IS technically rocket science.
