People seem to think PA is not ready for release.. but what are you basing that on? Are you basing that on an old build that has an issue? So how do you know that issue is not fixed? Who among you has seen the "release" and can talk to what is still broken?

Why do people not trust Mavor/Uber to know what they are doing? It's not the first game that they have made.. I see people claim to be fanboys and PA's biggest fan.. and constantly trash every decision and move they make.

I am genuinely curious why people think they know better than Mavor/Uber what needs to be done. If they are such experts why are they not running their own companies and showing us how it is done?

The release is happening whether you like it or not. So let's prepare to party like it is 1999 and give them the benefit of the doubt and support they deserve. When you see a new issue that is wrong on the release make a bug report of the issue, and move on. So much negativity when we should be celebrating.

What will the new users think when the come to the forums and reddit and see all this crap? You claim to want to see PA succeed, but that seems very tied to you agreeing with their decisions like you were on the board of directors.

Oh don't you worry. I'll keep everyone happy when the patch comes out.

Being realistic about their game doesn't hurt though. Nitpicking all the little things is something that leads to excellence - unfortunately, it's the most painful.

    Our country, right or wrong?

Well, supporting them is the best thing we can do. If we have critizism, let's keep it constructive.

A feature, perhaps can be covered in a mod. A tool'd up launcher for instance, raevn is working on and I am hyped about that. That should help retention a lot, help players use the game itself better.

Anything else, patience until after release, ride it out until the update comes that does put it in our hands.

Supporting it the best, gives the best chance for this to continue it's ever sharpening process. Not giving it 100% support on our ends just sinks it, and I could care less about mine or anyones investment in it, as much as the sheer potential itself.

We should all reserve our judgement until we can play the actual gold build (which will hopefully be pushed tonight or tomorrow.) I have no idea why people are already proclaiming the game a failure despite having no idea what improvements the actual build has made.

ya but isn't there a point where nitpicking gets to be detrimental? First you post to the forums with the issue, then you open a bug reports.. after that point what is the value with harping on it 100 more times? Then posting messages on how the game will fail if released because it is so unready.. again how do people know it is unready?
Why do they assume that the build they are playing on has all the fixes in it? (Naturally I don't mean you as in you) :)

My negativity comes from the fact that Uber haven't shared what's going to be in the update.

I think most people want the game to succeed, but they worry that if X or Y feature are not in it might not. IMO, from reading a lot of review on different games, the thing that can actually kill a game review are performance issues (AKA people can't play the actual game), glaring or constant bugs. If i were to guess the game in its current state will get ratings of 7,0 to 8,5 witch are pretty good and should help sales (if they fixed the pathfinding issue).

Some of the negativity I see is that one of the supported platforms has been unplayable for a few months. I have hope it will ne resolved, But if the rumors are true and the next release is 1.0 they better pull a miracle out of their butts.

The problem is not nessesarily Uber's fault but the closed source middleware they use, coherent UI. If all this is true one platfrom maybe months away from playing. I dont blame anyone for being upset. The game is not cheap.

And if they did that, there would be endless speculating, people working themselves into a frenzy over a misunderstanding or an overactive imagination, and then huge disappointment that the real thing is different.

but even agreeing with this.. what makes you think that Mavor/Uber doesn't know this? Have you seen their resume of games? All very successful games..

These guys have been making games longer than some of us have been playing them.. Maybe it's time to grab a beer, or whatever floats your fancy, trust them and prepare for the coming some awesomeness?

Maybe people with low tolerance for issues should stay away from kickstarter games as being too stressful and wait for a year after release? The linux issues do seem more worrisome than others.. but again I go back to my thoughts.. Who has seen the release and knows this is still an issue? Sure it could be.. but I don't think so. Mavor/Uber have taken us on one incredible ride, I have faith.

I haven't been on the forums long, and I've only played 50 minutes of PA.

Patch notes are always released with the patch. Period.

Worried about anything else? Balance? Units? Load up a devkit. Period.

    Lol

Oh no! speculation! hype! so bad. I'm sorry, but as financial supporters of this game, I don't think it's out of line to ask what's going on with the money we've donated.

The drama was bad - but I like to think for the most part we're starting to rally as a community and appreciate all the good in the game. It's going to be a fun launch. I know I am excited for the game to finally be out! Don't let the highly vocal sky-is-falling minority convince you otherwise!

So you see yourself as having made a donation, and you got no services in return? I don't see where backing a game, entitles someone to basically anything they can think of. I DO understand wanting updates. I wish there were more myself. I LOVE the livecasts. They do have a few things keeping them a bit busy.. they are probably still in the process of moving, they are preparing and going to PAX, they are cramming for a release that people have indicated better be perfect or the sky will fall.. so maybe just maybe they have higher priorities lately.. not to mention every time one of Uber sticks his head up they get flamed.

    .

I agree with you but if it is not fixed there will be a sh#t storm. Take a look on steam in the Witcher 2 forums and see the threadnought of happy linux users. I dont want to see that happen to PA.
