I´ve been seeing many different sites claiming that PA will be released in September---I cannot imagine this at all!

    Reasons:
-Game isn´t even near to feature-complete
-IngameFriendSystem, UI and so on are in the middle of getting rebuild. Beeing in the middle of something isn´t good if you are launching your game...
-You´ve been mentioning that you need AlwaysOn in Alpha, Beta & Gamma to be able to get enough data for match analysis. As game isn´t feature complete course only a few would play on your servers instead of the dedicated/ personal ones...
-Performance isn´t ready for 40 Player-Matches yet. And as they are one feature for the final version...
-Patch rollout hasn´t been very steady in the last weeks...

So, the question is in the title: Is this a joke or is it meant to be serious?

Although I hate to say it I think that September is pretty much the date which they are aiming for atm. For some reason that I fail to comprehend Uber said that offline mode may not come at release and may instead come shortly after.

You're not the only person here who is not happy with the potentially rushed release. If Uber rushes the release and make ridiculous decisions like not including offline mode on release they could destroy their game/userbase before they even have a chance.
Although I'm fine with uber putting in a few features after release, I am not fine with them skipping on core features just to rush a release.

The release date has been set time and time again, I wouldn't trust it without an official announcement from Uber.

It will be released when it is done. There is no specific release date from Uber yet.

1.0 release will be just another patch I'm afraid (a big one I hope). Some features will be in it, but some won't. I think uber said something about PA being updated, (balanced?), patched and getting new features untill long afther 1.0, meaning that the 1.0 will be far from the complete game.

In my opinion they have every right to 'release' this game while it isn't 'complete' yet, as long as they don't call it finished and give buyers a fair warning. Also, the price is a bit much I think. Unless it's on sale I wouldn't recommend it.

And how exactly is the price a bit high? If anything I would encourage them to not charge any less unless it's on sale. Civilization Beyond Earth costs $90 in Australia!.

I have to say thank you to Uber for not throwing us Aussies that ridiculous Australia tax.

I don't think the game is that for off 'release ready'....

The main things at the moment is squashing bugs and improving performance. The game actually stands up pretty well and is fun to play. Uber haven't released any patches for a while which suggests they are doing *allot* of stuff to the game :)

As for offline, I think if this isn't in by release (we really don't know for sure) they should make it very clear that it's coming soon.

dunno if that's relavent at all since it doesn't talk about September. but it does let us know that they are working 1.0 release right now

on another note, September's a great month to release in:

    anybody remember her?

she actually made decent music, was a better, more interesting person, made all of her music herself, as a nice bonus she also looked a heck of a ton better then GaGa on a no-makup scale. then Lady GaGa swept in, halfheartedly copied everything, rolled in the jackpot for nearly the same music and left her penniless. : D great world we live in.

I liked this song a lot...
    Haaa, memories...

Don't forget also that Uber is moving to an other building, so it certainly impact their capability to work a lot.

I believe that Uber are aiming for a 1.0 update sometime in September which I suspect to therefore be marketed as "Release".

However, this by no stretch of the imagination is a claim that the game is complete by Uber who have on numerous occasions in the past have said that they will continue to develop the game past 1.0 and have even admitted that various features that are sought after will not be present at 1.0 but will be developed and likely added in thereafter.

It seems like they do wish to release in September because it is a great month for releasing in due to increased consumer expenditure on gifts for Christmas. I hope the game doesn't suffer as a result but I do feel that it might as certain problems still haven't been addressed (game barely playable in the late-game).

They have been moving offices and it is PAX next week. Don't get your hopes up too high.

I guess I'm just cheap then..
But I doubt Uber will fix/patch galactic war, offline play, all the bugs, graphics, balance and all the features they want to implement within a reasonalbe timetable. I don't want to sound negative, but I often go to these forums afther playing a few buggy games of PA.

A bit off-topic, but is it just me or is the melody in that identical to Wicked Game, particularly the version by HIM?

Either way, I liked it and I haven't heard of her before so cheers. :)

EDIT: Seems this video is NSFW for nudity. Oops.

There are several other threads on the forums to discuss the game's release date with much less provocative titles. I'd suggest continuing this discussion in one of them.
