sorry to say this but the game is currently unplayable on linux. button event handling seems to be broken. will there be a fix, may I file a bug report somewhere? regards
There is no dx diagnostic on linux. Show us these, just run them in terminal The 'lspci' utility lists PCI devices. The 'dmidecode' utility should allow you to get detailed information from your BIOS about your processor, memory, chipsets, etc. The output of the 'dmesg' command will quite often contain most of the information you want. The 'glxinfo' command can give you details of the OpenGL capabilities of your hardware.
patience, my young padawan. I will show you the ways of the force. ^=^ in response to you, you should provide us with the outputs @KillerKiwiJuice mentioned. also note that if you are referring to the System Designer "Close" button, you can actually click it, simply you have to click at the very top of it. Some of these bugs Uber are aware about, some of these not. you can always report them here : http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/
Linux has a support subforum at the top inside of the regular subforum. I believe there is special instruction to fix things like grey window due to incorrect thinking game is unresponsive, and black box cursor, possibly this.
From what I've been reading on the support forum, there was a bug added pretty recently when the updated the UI system. If you go onto support SXX has made a few good observations on it and also has a minor mod that may improve things a bit. Uber have a programmer dedicated to the Linux build so I'm sure this is high on his list of things to fix. If you have a look on the support forum I think there is a link to the bug tracker report for this- probably a good idea to go onto that and +1 it to raise its profile as well (sorry I don't have a link to hand).
Well this game IS unplayable, it lags like a mother fucker!! seriously it doesn't even take that many units to lag now, and it totally perma freezes! UNPLAYABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! right when I thought they had the game runnin smoothly too
you gotta let us know what hardware and system you're on. if on windows please provide dxdiag. if on linux please provide dmesg output.
Its running pretty well on windows at the moment... Linux is having issues though and not sure about mac...
