I have an ATI 6800 series HD card, currently on 11.1. Windows XP 32-bit SP3. We literally just reformatted last week. Did a clean install of everything etc.

I have read that by rolling back to 10.8 I may actually get to play MNC for more than 6 seconds.

    So I have tried...

Uninstalling 11.1 through the device manager.
    Driver Sweeper.
    Driver Cleaner.
    Safemode
    Safemode with Netoworking
    Normal Windows

But whenever I go to install 10.8 my computer refuses to acknowledge that it's there, I have no option to set my screen to 1920X1080 and I am forced to simply reinstall 11.1.

I get a message saying "No ATI driver is installed or your ATI driver is not functioning properly" after I reboot when installing 10.8.

Am I using the wrong driver?

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/w ... iw_xp.aspx

Is that not the 10.8 driver on that list that I need?

I desperately need some assistance. I've been messing with this for almost 5 hours.

10.8 doesn't support the GPU you are using.

As it seems, I am no ATI expert; I just read the release notes provided by 10.8 ;)

as i said a few days back the 6850s wont support older drivers....
how bout a refund option if u arent going to fix this
still havent gotten one response to all my posts re:6850 problem
such a waste of time and bandwidth with this game.
Have already recommended that all my mates dont buy it even if they have nvidia cards
as all there mates with ati's (actually i think about 75% of mine run ati's) wont be playing the game.

We can take a look at why the game is crashing for you. Send us your log files:

    http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1738966

    Fatal Issues

For any crash, freeze, or other fatal error we need 3 files to help diagnose the issue: A DXDIAG Report, the LAUNCH.LOG file, and the PATCH.LOG file. Heres how to find them:

    DXDIAG Report

    Windows XP
Press your Windows "Start" button normally found at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
Select the"Run" option in the menu.
Type in "dxdiag" in the box and press "OK"
Select the "Save All Information" Sometimes, you will be asked if you wish to check if the drivers are "digitally signed" Should this message appear, choose "Yes"
Save the file to a place on your machine where you can easily locate it again e.g. your desktop.
Attach the file to an e-mail and send this to us.

    Windows 7/Vista
Press on the "Windows Vista" button normally found at the bottom left hand corner of the screen
    Select "Start Search"
Type "dxdiag" in the box and press the return/enter button on your key board.
Select the "Save All Information". Sometimes, you will be asked if you wish to check if the drivers are "digitally signed". Should this message appear, choose "Yes"
Save the file to a place on your machine where you can easily locate it again e.g. your desktop.
Attach the file to an e-mail and send this to us.

    LAUNCH.LOG & PATCH.LOG

    Windows XP
    "c:\documents and settings\<username>\My Documents\UnrealEngine3\Hostilegame\Logs\Launch.lo g"
    "c:\documents and settings\<username>\My Documents\UnrealEngine3\Hostilegame\Logs\Patch.log "
    Windows Vista/7
    "c:\users\<username>\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\Hostilegame\Logs\Launch.log"
    "c:\users\<username>\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\Hostilegame\Logs\Patch.log"

Replace <username> with the Windows account name you're logged in to.

    Email your files to support@uberent.com

    More info about your system

Ok, a few more pieces of information will help:

    1) What operating system are you running?

    2) Are you running a limited user account? Does your account have
administrator privileges? (You may not know the answers to these
    questions, that's ok)

    3) Are you running any anti-virus or other security software? Try
disabling those before launch as we've had lots of reports of this
type of software interfering with the patching process.

The great irony is that people are capable of affording a HD6000 series card, but can't spend a tiny bit of cash on a new copy of Windows?

    Really people...

No need to get personal neg.
According to Steam's hardware survey less than 3.5% of Steam customers use ATI 6xxx cards and only 13% run XP 32. So yeah, the combination of a series 6 ATI card with XP is exotic. ;)

Uber is working on a fix, please be patient.

    E-mail sent.

I don't see what having windows 7 or XP has to do with anything. The game says it support XP 32-bit if I recall correctly.
