Its only been happening since the last update. The game simply crashes and I get the option to send an error report to microsoft. Any help would be appreciated! launcher log and dxdiag log are included
Hello, Your Nvidia card could use a driver update: Code: Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 Driver Version: 9.18.13.3788 Driver Date/Size: 5/19/2014 22:44:03, 17480432 bytes Here is the link to the latest driver version for your GPU: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/77224/en-us Also, there's stuff missing from the UberLauncherLog file. There is no line about a crash or a game launch. Something is up, but I don't know what it is. Do you have an antivirus running in the background? Some of these programs can interfere with the game to the point that the game randomly crashes. *NOTE*: Did the crash occur when you tried to send an Astraeus or orbital unit to another planet? EDIT: What is the make, model, and energy capacity (watts) of your PSU?
mod stream pro 700w power supply link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018 no antivirus running of any kind im downloading the new drivers, will see if that helps. Thanks for the respnse
So after updating the driver it crashed again, but differently. Previously it crashes during the heaviest combat, such as when I am sweeping through an enemy base with an invasion force. Then it crashes PA. This time it crashed within the first 2 minutes, and instead of sending me to the windows desktop with an error message, my monitor stopped recognizing my display. I had to actually pull the plug on my whole pc to recover. New uberlauncher log and dx diag included
Sounds like your GPU or the computer is having a serious issue. Have you considered an upgrade? When you said that the monitor stopped recognizing your display, did you mean that the screen turned black completely? And by pulling the plug, did you mean "pressing the reset button" or "literally" pulling the plug? I never thought that a driver upgrade would cause serious issues with your machine. Normally, it would fix issues, but in your case, something got messed up. I'm paging @SXX to this thread to see what's going on.
I have been toying with an upgrade but cash is tight. :/ The monitor went over to an all black screen with a no signal message. I left it for probably ten minutes and then pushed the reset button on the computer. My GPU doesn't have horrible specs, enough that it should be able to play PA... right?
The specs of the GT 630 are sub-par at best. If you have the DDR3 version, you definitely need to upgrade to a GDDR5 card. PA is always hungry for RAM and video memory, and the GT 630 is probably not the best video card for this type of game. The best card for this game is an Nvidia card of the "GTX 600" or the "GTX 700" series. This is one of those games where you need at least 2 GB of VRAM to run at max settings, let alone run at playable frame rates. 1 GB of VRAM is not enough anymore... Here's the link to the specs of your card: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-630/specifications Also, I'm recommending that you upgrade to 16 GB of RAM. A user reported that his performance greatly increased after the upgrade.
