PLANETARY ANNIHILATION COMMUNITY ACTIVATE

s'up guys and gals,

got some neat news: we've decided to pair with the great peeps at IGN for the official Planetary Annihilation wiki. i'm pretty stoked about this because it gives the game an excellent boost in exposure -- and, more importantly, gives people a more curated wiki experience whenever they're digging around for answers.

we'd like your help with the latter part. the wiki -- since it just started -- is bare at the moment. if you'd like to drop some mad knowledge (tips, tricks, the easter eggs you've seen, unit descriptions), that'd go a long, long way to raising the profile of the wiki and getting more people interested in the game.

i've been feeding the page assets and suggesting additional pages. mind helping us out and making this the best thing ever? the sign-up process to edit is as simple as linking your FB or twitter to IGN and then going to town.

also, what other content would you like to see in there? what do you think it could provide?

Ugh.

Please don't do that. I have dumped many hours into the PA Matches wiki and copy and pasting all of my hard work would be a major douche thing to do.

Popularity will decide the best wiki.

And PA Matches has the strength of age.

Not just age, but content as well. 180 entries so far. Most of which have quite a bit of content – there are very few stubs on the PA Matches wiki.

I may need to get around to adding in the ability for people to edit the wiki directly.

The capability is there, but haven't enabled it as I'll need to make a variety of customizations to the site in order for it to actually look decent.

In that case your links page could use updating.

Time to make a mods page and list a buncha' mods. Mine may or may not be at the top... *Snickers evilly*

im all about spreading the love to other wikis. let's get a link circle going and connect it to the main PA page.

as for why we chose to pick a new official page (and why we would want one) it's because the old one has gotten way too outdated. IGN gives the game more exposure to a wider audience -- and the game will see benefits from being linked on IGN and cross-promoted by them.

I wouldn't worry about that and would do it regardless. The ign wiki is likely to be an introductory/overview sort of thing. A proper wiki will be vast, intricate and beautifully anal.

Feels like Uber has been pushing older members away recently while trying to shuffle in the new. This announcement should be great news, but it feels like a kick Brain in the balls announcement. Hopefully PA Matches will get some credit or Brain's page will remain a main PA page.

What, how so? Just because Brian has a private PA wiki doesn't mean Uber can't make an official wiki! Not to mention there already had been an official wiki.
