Having played this game for awhile (which is awesome) I believe their is a big void in the fact that land units are done for if someone builds a ton of orbitals (Anchors) and the player in question does not have Avengers. The only way of defending from this currently is umbrellas (Ground based)/(Correct me if I am wrong). What I am proposing is that their should be a T2 unit which is a multi-role support unit or just has a launcher which can be used to launch missiles on orbitals. I did a search earlier and didn't see anything about this topic in the forums. Another idea would be for an air unit to launch missiles up into space (USA F-15 have this ability: ASM 135 ASAT). The reason I bring this up is when playing FFA matches with multi planet systems; players landing on a world with 1 or more other opponents would focus alot of energy on winning the battle on the planet in question and would not be able to match an anchor rush on their planet. Usually the player doing an anchor rush would have a planet all to themselves and would enjoy a huge eco advantage. Another issue is anchor creeps and the options available to a ground based force would be limited without avengers (Limiting movement). I do not believe this unit would be able to single handily take out orbitals with ease but a large group should be able to handle it for balance. Maybe the unit also should only be able to target stationary targets. What do you think?

Actually not a fan of more ground based anti-orbital stuff.

What I'm missing though, is dedicated Anchor-killers. Basically the equivalent of Boom-bots for the orbital layer, even though heavily armored so they can actually close in on orbital units without getting destroyed. Not so much suited for killing Avengers, but for taking out slow or stationary orbital structures. (Not to forget some AoE, so they can also take out the fabbers constructing the Anchors ;) )

Not a bad idea either. Just it seemed to me their should be another way to get rid of anchors other than avengers (unit wise). I am a fan of using anchors myself but think their should be more ways to get rid of them.

Does the Gil e not attack the orbital layer anymore? Umbrellas are kind of what you looking for.

I always thought there should be an anti-orbital ship.

Certainly out of the box, but I'm still certain that adding more anti-orbital stuffs will invalidate the use of Anchors in regular play. Anchors provide an advantage of going orbital that no other unit can provide....
