Link below is my DXDiag information. And i attached a screenshot of the error. I was able to play without Steam, after i converted it to steam, i get this error. If it is possible, i can get back to the non-steam version . https://www.sendspace.com/file/49hsk5
Most likely you have outdated/broken drivers: Code: Card name: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series Driver File Version: () Driver Date/Size: , 0 bytes Try to remove exists drivers via Windows Control Panel or Device Manager and then try to install latest one from AMD website: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows 7 - 64
Thanks for the answer. I did what you said. It did not solve the problem. And also, somehow it gives different date and version number. The file i downloaded is named as "14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql". But in the directx it shows as "version : 8.632.1.2000 | date : 18.08.2009 02:15:58" I also uploaded the new dxdiag file as attachment. I checked the DxDiag log file and as you can say it says in there: Driver File Version: 8.14.0010.0678 (English) So, this part looks like okay. But i still can't open the game.
What link did you used to download drivers? One you need (I linked the page) should be called "13-9-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe".
Since AMD website is down, I couldn't open the site. So i downloaded from a different website. I will wait till they maintain the site and download with that link then. I'll post again after i did. Thank you.
For me website worked both times when I posted link and when I answered to you. Drivers you downloaded it's fow new graphics cards only and you need legacy one.
Hi again, i upgraded my pc to a fx 8350 and a gtx 780. i can't open the game again. i uploaded the information for you. Thanks in advance.
Hello, Everything looks fine in your Dxdiag so far. But did you remove the AMD drivers before installing the Nvidia card? That might cause problems... Also, what is the make, model, and energy capacity of your power supply? (just a random question) P.S. Are you on Steam Beta?
it is a High Power brand 750Watt psu. it says it has 80 percent evaluation. with some 80+ bronze sticker on it. I uninstalled amd driver, but since my cpu is amd fx 8350, when i click the "Chipset Driver" on the dvd, it installed Catalyst Control Center again. Is CCC necessary for CPU to work or should i remove it?
Link to specs of the GTX 780: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-780/specifications I'm not sure if your PSU (with 750W) can operate safely with a GTX 780 (which requires 600W and consumes 250W). I don't have an AMD CPU or an AMD GPU, so I don't know much about Catalyst Control Center or how it affects AMD CPUs. *NOTE* Do you have an antivirus on your PC? Here is the software incompatibility thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/558751813508748383/
Make sure you're not using the beta version of steam, i had a similar problem, except i didn't crash.
@ktojak109 no, as i search on the internet, psu is enough. @KillerKiwiJuice it seems the problem was steam beta. it has been solved. thanks
