Recently I found out that PA is modifiable, so I decided to give it a shot. As my first mod for this game, I decided to make a custom model for the Ant/Ripper. After a day or two, I was done with everything, so I decided to compile it. It seem to compile correctly, but when I went ingame and fabricated a(n) Ant\Ripper, I didn't see it. I figured it was just invisible, so I zoomed out to continue building. That's when I saw the tank, which covered up most of my screen.

I do not know what happened, any advice on how to fix it would be appreciated!

    tl;dr
The model is way too large, about the size of the planet itself.

Sorry if this thread violates any rules, I am new to the whole Planetary Annihilation Modding thing.

I don't know why it does this, but I just scale the unit down 100x.

Check the scale setting of the model:

If it's not 1, then you need to apply the scale. To do this, go to Object > Apply > Rotation & Scale

    upload_2014-8-9_14-58-30.png

Which sets the transforms back to 1:

This will also fix any odd rotation issues, or off-center location problems (for location, you need to go Object > Apply > Location)

Your pictures do not show up for me.

Everything is set to the default value

Also, whenever I re-import the .papa file, the model is the same size but the bone structure is scaled up by x100

Should be fixed now. They were linking to existing pictures instead of attaching to the post.

I seem to have found out a fix. When I tried to shrink the bones by x100 to counter the growth, it just grew x200 the size I needed it to be.

It seems to multiply by the opposite or something like that. I just scaled it up by x100 and the size seems to work. The only problem I'm am having now is that the recoil bone is going sideways instead of in.

I'm going to keep messing around with the bone structure. Thanks for the help, though.

You can't scale. It inverts the number, and then screws up the bones. Best to have it the ideal look and size you want it, as it is "scale: 1" before exporting. Any more or less inverts it, shrinks if enlarged and grows if reduced, then screws the bones up.

    PA doesn't like model scaling.

Have you tried doing what raevn suggested to both the model and the bones?

I don't think you get what I'm saying. It was at Scale:1 by default, but it just grew to x100 it's size when turned to .papa

That's why I scaled it up the bones by x100, then converted it to .papa
Since PA seems to do the opposite of the scaling applied, it divided it by 100, returning it to it's normal size.
