Just make bigger army of anything - tanks, bots, artilery, planes - and send it to the enemy base. Something will be destroyed, but dont worry, at the base is building new army and sending, sending,sending...

    Ha.

    Don't make me laugh.

There is so much more to PA than make a large army and send it to the enemy base.

You need to scout and raid all over the place. Skilled players attack multiple places at once and scout to see which are the better places to attack.

If you think there is no strategy, then play any of the mid level to top level players and you'll quickly learn how wrong you are.

yes this is a macro orientated game, this is not starcraft were you are limited to small platoons ...
but saying there is no strategy is simply wrong or a lie ... strategywise you do pretty much everything you do on other rts´s aswell .. build out your bases, gain resources, either fortify your main positions or expand and use everything available to you .. what you may have less in this game is tactics ... small skirmishes dont neccesarily matter as much here but rather early game
but you still can go for various unitcompositions build positional artilery or go for snipes and nukes or general harrasment ...
so there is PLENTY of strategy ...

So you think that you can win when enemy is sending milions of troops endlessly? In that case any nuclear will not help you, any defense will not survive long time.

nukes arent defensive they are generaly offensive even if you can use them defensivly, and this game generaly encourages expanding ...
if you don´t expand to other planets but fortify yourself on your main, chances are you will get sooner or later inevitably hit by a planet or asteroid ... the rest is a matter of having the propper counters available at the right time
answering to intell you got through scouting ... read your enemy, react to his actions and gain more production while doing so as well as weakening him ... this is generaly the same in every other rts .. just that the scale in PA varies extremely to how a system is created ... and since this is possible players need to addapt to the different terrain and battlefields ... THIS is what makes PA standout from every other rts to date ... IN GAMING HISTORY ...
it has scale ... potentionaly endless! ... heck i think i´m not even actualy exxagarating here ...
give it propper modding and technology and you might be able to litteraly play wargames over a planet equal to real life earth ... it´s as unbelieveable as it is awesome that there even is the possibility of this eventualy happening ..

this game and engine .. have massiv ammounts of potential ... MASSIV !!

Except, if I've been raiding and harassing you on all fronts throughout the game and hitting your weak points, you won't ever get to the point of having a large enough army.

If you attack the same place over and over and don't change it up, you will lose.

Well....attrition can take place over consistent attacks.

But generally, yes, you are correct.

I used to play StarCraft 2 and I would say PA actually involves more strategy than StarCraft 2.

StarCraft 2 is closer to DOTA than true strategy, with it's big emphasis on micromanagement of individual units, including hotkeys and special casting abilities, etc.

Also I found in StarCraft 2, that if you started the game with a certain strategy, then it was very hard to change strategy as the game progresses. I like the slower pace of PA which isn't reliant on a few key engagements to determine the outcome. You can switch up your strategy as the game progresses.

If you let them send endless waves of units at you without doing anything- sure your going to loose!

However PA has plenty of subtlety. The first level of being able to play at all is to learn how to efficiently get your production running *so you can match that stream of units with your own*. Once 2 players are on level footing then the actual strategy comes in: Once you both have lots of units, the difference between winning and loosing becomes much deeper- clever mixes of different unit types, good micro (sending in heavy units to the front, whilst controlling groups of long range units e.g. sniper bots and kiting them around the back keeping them alive). Mixing in using all the different layers available- send in bombers to take out heavy defences stopping your advance, sending gun ships around the back to damage their eco whilst the attentions is focused elsewhere. Building orbital weapons and attack them from above (great distraction technique btw). Expanding to new territory all the time (including off world- especially good if you want a safe place to nuke from).... As Brian mentioned whilst you have a main force attacking, you need to be sending smaller groups of units around to prevent your opponent expanding. You also need to be keeping an eye on your own expansion to keep your resource production going.

On a basic level, you are correct, 200 tanks beats 100 tanks (usually- again with a good unit composition and a skilled player I've seen that battle go the other way ;)) however that isn't the point really. PA is set up to make sure everyone has lots of stuff to play with (unlike smaller scale games like Starcraft), however that is not where the skill is really. Anyone can learn an efficient build order by watching a few games and things like area commands make expanding over large areas pretty trivial. No the skill is in deception and control of your opponent. Combinations of attacks, keeping the pressure on at all times until eventually you get the upper hand- it sounds like you need to watch a few vids and get your production sorted and you'll find the game much more interesting.

Every new game is only repeating of previous - you improve your economy, making army( doesnt matter what army) and sending to the enemy. Again.. Again... Again.. Just different planets.. It doesnt matter what you do - every battle looks like previous, always...

I dosent sad nothing about starcraft. If you want example of good strategy : Warhammer 40k : dawn of war II, Lotr, battle for middle - earth 2

You could say that about pretty much any RTS title you care to name... All of them have the same basic approach if you simplify your definition enough. For example- every game *you make units* therefore it is the same... *sigh*

and you do exactly what differently there you dont in pa?
upgrading units and unlocking spells? having small platoons instead of just single units?
these are again more tacticaly focused rts games with small scale ..
one focuses on holding positions the other has a bigger focus on basebuilding
in pa you have both of that on a grander scale .. the basic strategy however is available to all of those just that their focus is different ... and PA focuses more on strategy than on tactics ... i dont need to upgrade my units as they are at their best already ... i dont need to unlock spells instead i build nukelaunchers and halleys to throw massiv AoE attacks on my opponent
