I have been known to be a... squeeky wheel?... when it comes to balance and I still have issues in that area. But this post is not about that. I want to relate a personal experience with one of the employees at Uber, that just happened. Today was just like any other day. I dragged myself out of bed, went to work, dealt with various stupid people throughout the day, drove home to a list of errands that needed to be done, wept a bit about my account balance in relation to my bills and finally settled in to check the forums and play a little PA before I have to go to bed and do it all again tomorrow. When I logged into the Uber forums I found that I had a private message. "That's odd." I said to myself and clicked on the alert. I had not even a remote idea of the AWESOMNESS I was about to witness. There sitting in my inbox was a message from Tim. It read like this. For your signature banner -Tim Tim Cox Uber Entertainment Artist **I move away from the monitor to blink Whaaaat? I said calmly to myself. Some of you may or may not have seen the Signature banner I have been using for a while now. It looked something like this. Now, to create this banner I had to print screen the Armory screen in game and then crop, resize and roughly manipulate the images. You can see how fuzzy they are. Now that I have the hi-res images to work with, my banner looks like you will see below in my new Awesome Tim Coxified version of my banner. I work in customer service and often we get so mired in routine we forget how big a LITTLE extra effort can be. There was never any expectation or even a remote inkling that it would be appropriate to ask for these images. In fact it never occurred to me that I could even ask. Thank You Tim. You made my day and I will be gushing about this event to everyone, who will listen long enough for me to spit it out, over the next few months.
I don't think anyone's story would come close enough to this level of AWESOME you described. This awesome level is rated 9002. If you can beat that level, you won life.
I tweeted Ben Prunty and he favourited that tweet. Egotism aside, this is awesome and the images look awesome. And he did it because he likes you not because the low-res version made everyone want to pull their eyes out and send them back to 1983.
