Saving Your Game Against the AI

I was just playing PA yesterday and had to go get dinner. I shut down my PC, annoyed that I couldn't save midway through a mission. I was wondering if it was possible that when playing the AI, you could hit ESC >> Save, then when you play again Load Game >> (Game Name). This was a very useful feature in Total Annihilation as sometimes my games went on forever and I had to save and play over multiple days. I was wondering if Uber could implement this into PA. I am sure many players would use it.
