That sounds awesome! Can't wait to create some elliptical systems!
The 'Land Anywhere' feature will be really interesting. I wonder if it will be taken up by the competitive scene (who love complaining about spawn imbalances).
I'll definitely be using it :D It'll make people think (even more) tactically from the start!

Also glad that water Metal Spot thing is getting fixed o_O drives me nuts.

Are the new effects, UI changes, and strat icons found on the PTE a part of this build?

I suppose most likely you just get black screen and nothing at all, but this will be instead of crash or SDL error. I think this way because as far as I understand at moment all shaders in game are marked as GLSL 1.40 (OpenGL 3.1) so basically none of them will compile include one that handle UI surface.

Though it's might be a bit different if game going to fall back to compatibility profile.
Then UI might work, but not anything else.

PS: I tried to force OpenGL 2.1 on Linux and just get SDL failed context creation error.
You might want to try it on Windows with GLIntercept:

It's pretty powerful injection library that can do this kind of stuff.

Took a look in the PTE just now, seems to have some new problems introduced
    1. Naval unit seems to have a worse path finding (maybe due to the shallow water)
    2. Planes'(T1 bomber) wreckage stay in the air
    3. Some land units trying to go around the mountains would be shaking up and down

Any chance PTE becoming vanilla anytime soon? Those are awesome changes.

Can't wait! What do you mean by "fixed boom bot damage"?

They broke it in the PTE, then they fixed it in another PTE. The fix broke them in a different way.

It was zero for a time in the PTE, now they've fixed it so it's 250 again.

Minimum water depth was lowered to 1.5*whatever, was 1.2*whatever before.

The shader wasn't adapted and there's unfortunately a lot of "water" generated which is no longer deep enough by the new rule.
