While it's cool, what'd be the point? To reclaim all the trees you just made? :p

Well for naval, being able to create more rivers and places to sail, would be an idea, since for some reason uber dont seem to keen on naval teleporter.

I can understand no air, because air is so powerful and mobile. But water is really immobile.

Then there is the option to make paths through hills and mountains, if that infact ever becomes a part of the game, we only have tiny hills atm.

Then there is the option to repair dmg to the surface, after huge explosions scar the landscape with holes, or even impacts from planets that just wrecks some of the planet. being able to bridge over these holes, craters, through what ever land scape is suddenly in your way.

I mean terraforming is good all around. One thing that has always been lacking in ALL, as in every single RTS in know existance to my knowledge is the lack of power over the map / level, environment.

At least PA is a step in the right direction that decals and stuff stay, i hate it more than anything else when explosions or dmg just vanish like 5 sec after a battle, and the area is all shiny and clean again :p But there is still progress to be made for sure, question is if the engine supports it.

Terraforming would also allow odd building placement, because the worker would just resculpt the surface area, to make sure the building fit. Instead of like atm just one rock in the way, well sorry Mr powerful robot that has wiped out humanity, you cannot build here, because ROCK is more powerful than you could ever imagine!.

We should explain our thoughts and ideas in detail because humans aren't psychic. That is all.

    As far as we know.

If it's not like in Creeper or Perimeter where a lot of really important stuff depends on terrain, then there is no point making anything more complex than collision/nuke craters.

Do you even know what terraforming is for?

As a robotic entity, I don't need no damned trees or bunnies or stuff. I may keep one or two of them biosupporting planets viable after I conquer this area of the universe in order to study Darwinist behavior as relative to my ai construction, and muscle mechanics as applicable to more effective robotic structure. I sure as hell don't need air to breath or stuff. I conquer a planet and I am going to strip that suckka.

We is robots. We're the next, and we're the best. Bioplanets are there for our whim, and they don't even usually develop their own (so called)intelligent life form.

I have a real bad problem with you thinking biological life form is important in this day and age. For this reason, I am intructing all of my sub commanders to move in on your systems and take them for my own, it seems you may have developed an inefficient thought process, and this weakness (called compassion by the ancient bio intelligents before we came to be) must clearly be exploited.

    ****

Don't get me wrong, I love planetary development, I love natural systems (biology, geology, etc) however, terraforming is a worthless process for non biological life. Just saying "We should add terraforming. That is all. :3" is pointless and really doesn't make any addition to plausible gameplay in this setting.

Actually there's a whole faction (maybe two) that loves creatures and wants to keep them alive, and then there's the exact opposite. Basically pro progentior or anti.

Yep, and that faction, along with the biologic, first generation life forms are expendable.

I do not hate biologic life forms, however, their existence must not hinder the development of my armies. They are merely complex chemical systems that are useful for study, however a second generation life form like us that has become inefficient due to illogical attachments to such biological life forms is clearly in need of "pruning" from the vine if you will permit me a biological term.

I meant things like adjusting water levels on a desert planet to use water units.

I think he means terraforming like in Zero-K. That is actually highly strategical and will add much to gameplay. It also will get your commander stuck.

Hmm, sounds like something that should be added post 1.0 release. It would definitely be useful for creating breastworks and fortifications. Trenches would also be cool.
