There also cool feature that units moving too near to crater blow up. So you can't build on top of "invisible texture" any more.
I like the new nuke effects, but the initial explosion feels slow, and not very powerful. Great work on the actual effects themselves, they look very cool. The lighting in the new mushroom clouds are my favorite.
I'd rather want to see dynamic meshes affect path finding. With recent pathing changes this should be now possible to implement.
New nuke/commander asplosion is PRETTY, love the volume in those clouds. AI still uses the commander to defend his base, does not really retreat when taking critical damage. There's also an odd bug with some structure wrecks being ghosts some of the time. You can destroy the wreck, you can reclaim it, the entity is gone and you can build on the spot again but the wreck is still shown, units can path through it too. I've had it happen to Holkins and other structures too. Area patrol is not yet working properly. Aircraft do not fill the area they are supposed to patrol and usually follow a rough diagonal line through the cirular area. I also set some avengers to patrol the planet, and they never left my half of the planet until I gave them a manual move order.
Neat, so now the commanders have proportional weapons for proportional layers. If firing on naval, torpedoes, if firing on air, missiles. Kind of necesary, considering the difference in each unit. Naval range is too long so they beat commanders outright, but if commander shot farther land would be in trouble. Air never gets hit by the current weapon. I'll +1 this. I... uhh... do that too Not proud of that.
I like the performance improvements and new nuke effects a lot! The new nuke mushroom and crater effects are really awesome ! This game is shaping up real nicely, keep up the great work Uber!
Not sure when those appear, but there is two new launch line options: Code: | --shaderurl : url for custom shaders. | --steam : attempt to initialize the Steam API
I tested it too. Finally commander snipes with air is sooo much difficult now. I think one of the major balance issues has been solved.
Bug found: looks like planet generation icon in lobby never disappear for me. Though when I press "Start" game loaded just fine. PS: Love new box cursor for units selection, remember me about C&C Generals cursor set.
With new path finding changes it's looks like walls become quite useless. Army of bots can ignore walls completely. Is this intended? PS: Sometimes they "try" to go properly, but when they build formation it's looks like walls ignored completely. One more: setting 1500 doxes on patrol still kill sim and possible that before it's was little bit better. And yeah even using patrol with like 300 doxes hurt performance a lot and this is on 1300 meters Sandbox planet with zero terrain variety.
Now they need to make it so units can have multiple firing effects. And they need to change the audio cue for the missiles, they sound cute
