Sad to say, I haven't found a solution yet. However, I found that the launcher writes a log file which happens to include some error information. I've attached it below; hopefully it will be of some use.
Can you you please upload your DxDiag.txt as well? Game log only report OpenGL 4.3 support so it's looks like you still using old drivers.
Same issue as above posters. Worked great until I had to put in a new HDD on my desktop (win7), ran into this issue but managed to fix it by running the launcher in compatibility mode for XP SP2. Doesn't seem to help on this laptop though DxDiag attached Edit: This is a fresh install, so the launcher is whatever version comes from Uber's site at the moment. Also, after shutting my computer down so he could think about what he's done, PA has progressed to a full-screen but totally blank neon pink rectangle. Still no dice running the actual game though.
When I start the launcher it tell me error 0xc000007b, I've tried to fix it following this guide 1 - Delete all d3dx9*.dll files from windows\system32 and windows\SysWOW64 1 - Download DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010): 2 - Run it and extract it to any directory. 3 - Open this directory and run DXSETUP.exe but it still doesn't work. I've tried to launch with dependency walker and it tells me that some dll missing. dll missing are: API-MS-WIN-APPMODEL-RUNTIME-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ERROR-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ROBUFFER-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-STRING-L1-1-0.DLL API-MS-WIN-SHCORE-SCALING-L1-1-1.DLL COHERENTUI.DLL DCOMP.DLL IESHIMS.DLL LIBEAY32.DLL SSLEAY32.DLL so what should i do now? here my dxdiag
what are the requirements for Uber laucher? i had to reinstall windows 7 and now the launcher is not working. no UI showing. i installed the vcredist, but still not working. no installation of the game possible, any help anyone??
with the software dependency walker zapotek mentioned i found some of the same dll missing: COHERENTUI.DLL IESHIMS.DLL LIBEAY32.DLL SSLEAY32.DLL anyone can tell me what is the reason or what i have to install to get them?
Basically 0xc000007b always mean "corrupted DLL" and not "missing DLL". It's just useful info for anyone who get this info. Basically launcher use barebones of older version of PA engine so it's have exactly same requirements. Did you tried to install DX from June 2010 package? PS: Code: Language: German (Regional Setting: German) If your username contain non-English characters game launcher likely won't work.
thanks for your help but i fixed it alone before... i installed another game first, which then installed directx9 again. So i guess this was missing. Suddenly PA launched... this is really not good... PA should either say what is missing, or install it for you. You cant expect everyone to install this things on its own. its a game. People want to install and play. not look for dependencies for ages.
Unfortunately it's not under Uber control. PA don't use DirectX at all, but Coherent still depend on it on Windows. As result there is number of problems that hard to debug...
OK FOR ALL WHO SEE THIS THREAD! I HAVE INSTALLED DIRECTX9, AND NOW IT RUNS PERFFECTLY WELL. THE GRAPHICS DRIVERS SEEM TO MISS THAT INSTALL WHEN YOU FORMAT YOUR PC! cheers Al
I just reformatted and installed dx9 and 11, still nothing. Edit: I decided to stop being a lazy ******* and looked into the log. Looks like I need to install Win7 SP1. I'll keep this updated as I work towards fixing it. EDIT2: Okay, I fixed the problem, the last step I took was follow this post: Maybe installing SP1 for win7 had something to do with it too.
You need to install DX9 as well! Windows 7 comes with DX11 as standard but evidently Coherent needs something from the older DX9.
Did you try to install the one that I linked or a different one? Because I tried to install it twice and it only worked on the second time. To be specific, it was the one I linked.
In fact, i realize that even i install DirectX9, it's always DirectX11 which is install on my computer.... So i don't know how desinstall DirectX11 But someone can tell to Uber to use different technology for their launcher ????? It's crazy this story about DirextX !??

Thanks lilbthebasedlord! I had this problem with the launcher starting but not showing and your solution worked for me. What I did, following suggestions in this thread: -install latest nvidia WHQL drivers (damn you Lenovo for not updating). -installed latest intel graphics drivers (Lenovo twice-cursed). -installed missing(?) DX9 parts with directx_Jun2010_redist. Only after the last step it worked.
