I started to think about the update and I came to the conclusion it might have done most things right. After playing quite a few games in this update I realized that there no longer is one single tactic that wins 9/10 times. Like T2 rush or T1 spam or sniping. Instead now all of these tactics, and even more, are viable, but you can also defend yourself against all of them. I could no longer use one tactic against all enemies, some were very well defended against it but not against something else. The result is that you have to adapt to your enemy and try to attack him in as many as possible different ways. Isn't that essentially what balance means? That there are multiple ways to win the game not just one. I know there is some work to do on the precise unit balancing but we're getting there.

Let me know what you guys think.

"More than one" doesn't mean there are enough viable options. The balance paradigm still favours only a handful of dominant strategies, mostly centred around two or three T2 units and T2 Eco.

Yes but a player focused on orbital won't be bothered by T2 units. And if an enemy has unproper AA, an air focused player can also beat T2 armies. T2 really isn't the only way.

Ah yes, an entire layer of the game that totally invalidates ground combat. I forgot about that, thanks.

I don't like it too much either, but it's in the game and it's a legit way to counter T2. It can be frustrating I know. But this is how they tried to balance it. So a T2 rusher has to adept to an orbital player. I think that that is what we should aim for. If you want to win the game you should be able to counter the enemy on every front and then successfully launch an assault with units he has no or poor defense against.

I still think there will be quite a few units added, such that will balance the ground vs orbital game. Have faith padawans. The Uber is strong.

Honestly without more units being introduced into the roster as well as some much needed balance to the way T2 works, I`m afraid there`s really only 3 or 4 strategies you can use in PA and that's about it.

Right now shellers and vanguards wombo combo is way too OP and bombers need to be addressed.

I think I agree. A greater variety of units creates more tactics and ways to win. Also orbital to ground interaction could be improved upon to make the game faster.

Or, if bots didn't suck, we'd have better units at killing Shellers and Vanguards, and they wouldn't need to be changed much.

Yeah if we had better bots or bots with more defined roles than shellers wouldn`t be that bad because we could have a ton of choices at our disposal to deal with them. But as it stands non of the bot units can actually do this at all both on the T2 side and the T1. Balance is a giant circle jerk though since the roster isn`t complete yet which sucks.
