Would be fun to sling innocent noobs into the sun! watch them burn and suffer you know.
Sometimes you just want to make sure they are really dead.

Throwing planets into the sun? yes?

General community response is no, because despite the cool factor, it'd be entirely impractical.
Devs still haven't said anything on the matter, despite the countless threads that can easily be found by a certain forum function that rhymes with birch

I prefere getting on an enemy planet, build the halleys and send that planet at another enemy controlled planet, it eliminates 2 enemies with one blow. still, i think its unnecessary, if your at the point of building halleys on an enemy planet, you have pretty much won and are messing around

Could be a draw condition. You and your enemy are both on the same planet. Build some Halleys and throw the planet into the Sun.

But if you've sunk enough economy into halleys whilst being able to prevent the enemy from overrunning you, then imagine what that economy would have done if you spent it on tanks instead? You'd be going for a draw when you could've had a win.

Thread number... 30 on this topic?

    It's cool, but not practical.

I'm not opposed to it being added eventually, but since it is such an impractical feature it should be an extremely low priority.

If you colonize a planet there are orbiting one moon, but the moon colonized by the enemy.
You can biuld halleys on the planet and throw both planet because the moon is orbit around the planet.
But sure you lose eco....(becous the moon smaller and less metal)

Please hold some real physics,if you throw up the apple.....fall down
i hate the idea moons can survive if the planet smashed.

Every time I notice someone messing with celestial in the office, I mention how cool it'd be if you could sling a planet into the sun. I'm with ya'll.

It would be "cool," but not very practical and very very rarely used.

I can see that view. Personally, I think it'd be fun. I like fun.

    I like fun too.

But I'd rather have a finished game since we're getting closer and closer to the end of 2015 and we still haven't hit 1.0.

I just want to get a finished game since we're getting closer and closer to the end of 2015 with no 1.0 release in sight.

I'd rather the developers spend time on features that are critical to gameplay, like proportional smashing, game balance, fixing the bug that makes units walk on the air when a planet smashed, performance improvements, submarines, sinking wrecks, the list goes on.

There are a ton of features to be added to PA, and sending a planet into the sun is very low on the priority list.

    But that's just me.

only if you can cause a mininova or something that wipes the slate clean and only certain units survive jajajaj

You couldn't be more wrong, my man. Sorry.

As opposed to being all doom-y and gloomy, let's get this thread back on the rails and celebrate the topic at hand: flinging a planet into a sun, which would be an awesome mechanic. Dunno if it'll ever happen, but it'd be rad.
