UPDATE 2: Please see bottom post for possible solution. Installing .Net Framework 4.5 had no effect on fixing the disappearing build bar.

    UPDATE 1
: Images added to Original Post to confirm bug.

    Hello,

I just updated to the new 68331 build and while I enjoyed better performance than ever, I stumbled upon a new (and possibly serious) bug while playing my first new match:

    - Sometimes, when I click on a commander, a fabricator, or a factory of any type, the build menu does not display. When I unselect and click again, the build bar shows up. This can be harrowing if an enemy commander is pounding my base...

I will upload an image when I encounter the bug again. Images now available.

The few repro's we've gotten on this were out of date drivers - in at least one case, just a few months out of date. I'd urge you to update if you haven't in a while.

Okay, I am downloading some new graphic drivers (version 337.88) now.

What if these drivers screw up PA or my computer?

One time, when creating a system, the whole screen (not the ui) turned red, and when I reloaded, the screen was black. The issue went away with a computer restart. Could this be the result of out of date drivers?

Here is my DxDiag if it helps to check.

This has also occurred to me, and my drivers are up to date (GeForce 337.88). I'm not sure how to reproduce the bug consistently though, and it's usually solved by deselecting and re-selecting the unit, and if not, I sometimes needed to hit F5.

My drivers are from March 2014, and the game plays just fine without any crashes, freezes, or other issues. EDIT: The game had a UI crash sometime after I posted this message. More info about my error can be found in this thread.

I do not think this is a problem with out of date drivers, I think this is a bug within the game itself.

I was getting the same bug. Updating my video drivers seems to have fixed it.

Notably, I was only getting the bug in the GW mode.

I just updated my Nvidia drivers to 337.88 after experiencing a horrible (and partial) UI crash. o_O

I will test PA and my other games to see if everything works fine.

Edit 1: PA is working fine. No crashes so far, but I still have the disappearing build bar bug. Also, the battleship doesn't have cannon sounds for some reason...

Ever since the new build yesterday I have had the exact same issues. I've checked my driver and its up to date. Re-selecting or pausing don't fix it, it randomly goes back to normal I was forced to abandon a very promising galactic war campaign as I couldn't amend build queues or build anything new for several minutes resulting in me getting absolutely smashed.

UPDATE 3: Refer to top post for more information.

    Update 2
: After installing .Net Framework 4.5 on my computer, I haven't had issues with the build bar disappearing so far.

I will continue testing to see if this is a verified solution.
