Is there a way or a mod as of now to add exclusions to games like in Supreme Commander 2? My group of friends and I want to play more battles with large armies, and like to disable nukes, and long range artillery.
Why "like SupCom2"? TA had a unit-by-unit customisable exclusion list; substantially better and more granular. I'd despise something as limited as SupCom2's exclusion list.
It would be fairly easy to mod in even without much technical understanding. Did you want me to make a step by step guide?
Just remember, whenever you bring up subcom2, your going to get a lot of butthurt players raising a storm but yes, i think uber will implement an exclusion list, once the game is almost done and all the units they want are finalized
I found it easier to do rather then explain. Download this http://www.mediafire.com/download/8plju1ya3w9k1a8/server_mods.zip Stick it here C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation Go into server_mods/pa/units and edit unitlist.json with notepad Remove the units you don't want from that list and save. If everything has been set up correctly, when you host a game it will load up the mod. It should show in the mod in the bottom left hand corner. Have fun.
I am now a butt hurt player! Seriously though, for the sake of modding I would like it if we had the tags needed to turn on build limits for specific units. Similar to "Limit super weapons" in Generals, but a little more versatile. Super Mega planet crushing experimental walking fortress that can jump into orbital?? Build limit 1. Backup commanders? Build limit 3. Then we could mod in crazy toys and have a menu toggle to limit their production, and maybe an option for an a multiplier... limit*0.5(rounded down) might work better on single planets while limit*3 might work best for large systems.
