Hey folks I downloaded PA today after waiting a year to buy it (for some reason as I was HUGE TA fan) but I started on the "campaign" mode and on the first missions ran into some extreme lag, so the point that the game is unplayable. Any help would be appreciated. I even turned the graphics to medium (from the highest) to see if that would help. It didn't. Specs: i7 4770k @4.3ghz GTX 780 Windows 8.1 64 bit 16 gig RAM Everything else runs fine (Titanfall, WoW, Skyrim) but I'm getting lag on this game. Thanks. (Also, where is the Skirmish mode at? I spent an ungodly amount of time in Skirmish mode for TA and can't find it on PA. Thanks.)
updating you graphics will likely make a huge difference. Posting your full dxdiag.txt here may also help us give you some ideas, though based on posted specs you should have no trouble at all. As for skirmish, click on muliplayer and set opponents as AI players. Once the game hits 1.0 release, we will be able to play offline vs the AI in a more traditional skirmish.
Check out this page on improving performance: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/how-to-improve-performance-all-video-cards-driver-links.53165/ Also, make sure you're playing on the closest server. Hit ctrl+p to figure out if it's client side lag, or sim lag. It very well could be the servers have simply been way overloaded with the massive influx of players from the steam sale.
If you have just installed it from Steam, then re-install it directly from the Uber download (see store.uberent.com/Download/Install?titleId=4) I was getting between 4 and 7 fps (with all detail turned down/off) on the Steam version and 50+ fps with high detail running via the Uber runner.
I'd love to post my DXDIAG but I can't insert anything (picture, link, or file) since I'm a new user. I have a screenshot of where the server FPS on a skirmish game was 1FPS but I can't post it to verify it should be that way. But my game was running at 60FPS with one drop to 30FPS. As such, though, here's the spam:...nevermind it's saying the message is too long now.
welcome to the forum Upload your dxdiag.txt to www.filesnack.com/ and post the link here by removing www from the website's address. g.e. filesnack.com/blah/blah The forum doesn't see it as a link.
May I ask where you are located, Australia maybe? My Australian friends have immense problems playing PA right now at all... which just started a few weeks ago. I just posted a similar thread.
The server perf window will always read 1fps right now, and the sim will always read 10fps (unless there's server lag, in which case it can go below that). IIRC this is due to some recent changes to the server code (multithreading changes I think). The 1 fps doesn't actually mean anything as far as I know.
I couldn't quote your post because I can't post links from quotes either. I'm so frustrated with just posting this right now it's crazy. Those restrictions need to be lifted or at least reevaluated if not for just this subforum. Then you have to fight with captcha for 5 minutes. pastebin(dot)/QAKxdpEx
Your problem is your graphics driver is out of date. It should be May 26, 2014 and 90% of the problems that people have with the game is usually outdated graphics driver. Here is the link for the updated driver. http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/75991 Edit: on the issue of the antispam mechanisms. Just another paraphrase what I was told post more. Roll Eyes I Did. Edit: Iimitations on new user forum accounts.
My drivers were updated 17 June 2014. The information in the DXDIAG is off for some reason, which is still more current than the driver you listed.
Well that's where his boat to say could be an issue with your beta drivers. also for some reason dxdiag doesn't always give the most accurate dates for some reason but the best thing we have for troubleshooting. Edit: forgot to proof my post because using Dragon NaturallySpeaking to write.
Rolled back, still same issue. Edit: I'm under the impression that ALL games are played on a remote server. Is there an IP I can do a continuous ping and tracert on to ensure that I'm not getting some errors in that area?
Sorry about that just using voice to text software so I can write. it does have a habit of incorrectly writing down what I said. What I meant was I was going to suggest was to roll back to non-beta drivers. Yes, PA uses a client/server networking model. The game simulation is done on the server. I would try these two IP addresses 50.18.44.36 and 23.20.173.62 (retrieved from process explorer). Also switch through ctrl-p and see what you're getting on a simulation fps and client fps. edit: Set your graphics settings to the lowest and increment from upwards to see if there's an issue there. If that doesn't help check out this thread. Doing exactly what the first post says. UberProbe Performance Upload Thread
I won't be able to reply in that thread due to not being able to post the picture requested by the OP. I attempted to ping the servers but they have echo requests denied, however, a tracert shows once I'm hitting what appears to be their NAT or Proxy server (216.182.236.111) I'm timing out at RTT2 and 3 but RTT1 is normal. Not sure how their network is setup and if this is intentional. Is there a forum admin that can lift my posting restrictions so I can post a picture on the listed forum to attempt to solve this dellima?
