How to put units on permanent patrol?

I've found the patrol icon, but when I shift-click to set a patrol route I can't find a way to join the end of the route to the start so units will permanently patrol. How can I do this?

Hi @ihaveahead. You can create area commands by holding shift and dragging a circle out to the size of the area you want to patrol. This can also be used for build commands and attack commands etc. For example you could tell 50 fighters to patrol a whole planet by dragging the circle out to the edge of the planet. Quite handy

There is no need to join the end to the start they automatically go back to the first patrol point after visiting all the others

Awesome thnks. I was trying to right click with the patrol icon instead of left. I'll try the circle thing. That sounds useful.
