Well it can pick up ten units, and when I tell it to drop them off it drops all at once, only problem is the area load command only loads one and not the others, gotta click them all. But I may figure out how to fix that later.

Can you make the model for each one appear in a different place?

Well you could by making multiple bones that units are connected to, but I'm not exactly sure how to make it know that one bone is already occupied and to switch to the next one, I'm considering just making something where the model hides the units on the interior of it.

any of you two think the way the astraeus works in PA is not a propos and should be changed? https://forums.uberent.com/threads/...al-launcher-and-transports.55624/#post-941821

Sounds similar to an idea I had a while back.

    I do support.

Yes I am also in favor of tatsujb's idea. It would make loading up units a lot smoother.

Astraeuses (astraei?) are always going to feel like a bandaid to me. This game is all about huge numbers, but there are no units to support huge armies. We need multi unit transports for air and orbital layer in order for huge armies to work.

Putting that aside, I dont think that an astraeus should be used to transport huge armies. the way I see it the astraeus is an initial colonization vehicle. My 'fix' for the astraeus would be to remove transporting capability entierly.

The Astraeus would then be some kind of factory that you can send to annother planet. It would have to land there and build up a little before being functional. It should be able to produce the basic fabrication vehicles and nothing else.

Transporting armies to another planet should be done with a dedicated unit used exactly for that kind of thing.

Realistically you would build a multi unit transporter similar to tatsujbs idea in order to invade an already colonized planet. However once it reaches its destination it can not fly back to orbit and maybe just selfdestructs.

Now throwing all realistic expectations away, what I would love to see would be a space elevator leading to a loading dock in where transport ships are loaded and once they are full they fly to annother planet to drop off their units.

I still don't see the problem with having one unit orbital transports as a actual logistical problem.

People hate the idea of single unit transports because it creates a logistical problem, but to me, that's the intended purpose.

If moving armys is easy, they don't feel like armys, just doom drops from star craft.

I posted this long before GW was released, and at the time I don't remember any fresh threads that were primarily concerned with this issue. More importantly, it's still an issue, and an even bigger one, though the solutions I proposed may no longer be valid.

    wow, welcome back!!

as you can see your concern (at least in the case of the Astraeus not working in the same way the trailer showed) is just as valid to this day.

It made it into the top 7 of a poll i created recently for the devs : https://forums.uberent.com/threads/top-7-poll-uber-come-collect-results.60778/

hopefully this will be heard when the devs talk about the poll with the vanguards.
