Is now up. It is a continuation of the last set of builds, with a few issues cleaned up. Ongoing perf work, AI now uses teleporter gates. Be afraid.
Code reading 67307: - add pause menu item to galactic war - action bar (commands and orders) made own scene - tweaking with dev mode controls for visibility etc. 67342: - yep, some of the teleporter stuff is visible in the AI files. - missile ship and catapult got new animations - landing effect tweaked - typos fixed, one may have been significant
Known issue: The AI may end up going teleporter first instead of something more optimal like a metal extractor first. :/ Fixed locally, but did not make it into the PTE build.
Anyone else has disabled "restore defaults" and "save" buttons in settings ? Oh no mods activated offcourse... Or is my localstorage broken beyond repair (could be).
If this is your first PTE build in a few days, this is expected, PRoeleert. All settings for everyone will be reset to defaults with the next stable build (Unless you play on PTE with one of these ones). This was an intentional decision to force people to reset their settings. There's been so many changes since they first got made, that a lot of random bugs and issues have been reported due to "old data".
Oh ok no problem But I found out why buttons were disabled they come only active when you change something. Maybe not do that for restore defaults it's confusing...
"first contact" and "commander sighted" voice notifications are still broken. The text notification pops up but i rarely notice it.
It's was playable on middle size metal planet, but a bit laggy in late game. There was 5 more planets so AIs kill simulation performance earlier than I able to finish game. Current stable version use up to ~1.5Mbps for me so it's 3x less bandwidth in PTE. Though I'll prefer to have some data transfer rate option in settings because I'm okay with any bandwidth usage. Actually I just want to see AIs using teleporters, but my ally AI stuck on 1st planet...
Loving this one - AI keeps getting better. I'm still running into problems when trying to take over an AI controlled planet with nothing more than the orbital gimme's in GW. Dropping in 200+ units at a time doesn't cut it, and every time I manage to get a teleporter up, it won't connect to the one on my home planet.
One more issue I discovered, and fixed locally, is the AI can get stuck waiting on a teleporter to connect if it put in a reservation to go thorough a teleporter and then the teleporter(s) on the destination planet get destroyed.
Other notice. When spectate game clearly able to use up to 2Mbps. I also notice few different behaviors that looks weird: It's looks like sometimes AI send units to not connected teleporter and they stay next to it, but if it's get connected those units still stay there and not moving inside. One time of AIs mostly build teleporter, stopped and then start to build other one. And yeah AI not yet utilize it too much, but progress is great!
I'm trying a PTE for the first time, 67342, on linux, downloaded with github.com/pa-pyrus/papatcher I keep getting a problem where I basically can't do anything but zoom in and out with the mouse. "b" doesn't select the commander. Hovering over a unit highlights it, but clicking on it does nothing. All three cases where I've gotten this to happen so far have been verifying combat fabbers can't assist a bot factory. In each of them I basically couldn't unselect the factory, or the combat fabber. No idea if it's related. Clicking the ground does give me a graphical pinging effect. I can't use the middle mouse button to move my view.
What GPU and graphics drivers you using? I had similar problem on HD6950 with R600g and fixed it by using "--software-ui". Looks like Coherent tend to crash for me and make it stuck like that.
Huh, I'll try that, Coherent has been crashing pretty reliable on me, last two times were at 20 and 22 minutes.
Yeah in this PTE it's tend to crash with "X error BadDrawable" (PA#2617) pretty often, might be we need some option to respawn it without game restart...
Software-ui is kind of a bust. Lost of things weren't getting erased properly, sometimes I couldn't click on things, and then the client just outright crashed.
