When I created an uber account (which requires an email) I had to copypaste the at sign from another source to get one in game -.- Also many other characters dont work. It might be only Alt Gr not being handled by the game.
Yeah, bug FS#2193. It's been there since September 2013. I think it's a low-priority bug due to a workaround being available and account creation not happening that often. Item 3823894792387989 on their list.
If this is the AZERTY keyboard issue, we have hopes it will be resolved soon. We're hoping to implement SDL on Windows like we already have on Mac and Linux, and it handles some international keyboard input a bit more reliable than some of the default system handlers.
No, I literally mean if we would be able to type those special characters that make that ridiculous looking face that people chant on twitch chat, with the new change? Because it will add more special character support, it might let us type those silly symbols in? I am not well understood today.
I know what you meant, I was just joking. I detest the twitch spam with things like that phrases, and I joke to master about it periodically, because he loves using it. As for those symbols, it's possible the extended ASCII set will become available with this, but I'm not sure. I think SDL has support for all that.
You can already try to copy&paste anything. SDL just handle keyboard input a bit more properly so it's will fix issue of non-English keyboards, but it's not going to change how something displayed in-game because it's what Coherent handle.
Aww, coherent doesn't have extended font support? Wait, coherent isn't "plugin friendly" to this? The game can't just import fonts?
Coherent it's just a modified Google Chrome so it's can handle anything at all, but it's have nothing to do with SDL on Windows and keyboard input handling.
Hmm, seems wierd to me, that it would have ability to display it, but wouldn't handle keyboard input for creating typing. But I guess I can understand, there is a difference between something understanding a keyboard input, and something understanding a character. This is talking about understanding a keyboard input AS entering a character. So its still good, that you can simply hold shift+num and get a !@#$%^&*(), and would be even better if you could hold alt+shift+### and get a ♦☻♣♠○◘◄╬£æ
The mac version already handled Unicode, so i dont see why coherent on windows wouldn't? On that note, I think I'm having a name collision with myself, and can't set my ign to Alphasite, hence Ålphasite.
Is that still problem in PTE? I suppose it's would be useful if you say what hardware model you have because @jorgenpt most likely working on fixing such issues at moment.
Short bump here: Account creation might not be a frequent use case for most people but typing in passwords is. I can grudgingly live with having a sub-par password for PA proper. But having to copy-paste security information to complete a PayPal-purchase in the armoury because it only supports the most bare-bones of character sets is unacceptable. edit: Dropped the rest of that post, was a notch or two too aggressive.
