On a side-note, if you ever want to try the latest NVidia driver, add the xorg-edgers PPA. That will give you 340.17 (or any earlier version if you want). Nicely installable by "apt-get nvidia-340".
Also, preventing coherent copy (and I presume paste) dom events. I think I found the cause - it doesn't recognize the OS X Command key, which was used for copy and paste in previous builds. Code: [07:59:50.631] INFO no keycode mapping for SDL_Keycode 1073742051
It worked with the even newer drivers but now the game froze 3-4 minutes in instead. edit: apparenty i have 331.79 now
When I use the build hotkeys, I get the appropriate building outline cursor, but I can't place things. If I press ESC once, I keep the cursor and can place it.
It is almost like the game pauses itself after a couple of minutes. after the freeze the UI is still working and can also use the crono cam.
So... How about dat reversion? I think it has something to do with a unit changing the health of another unit.
Good spot. I sent a vanguard on hold-fire at a x0 AI enemy commander. After a couple of shots, the sim froze. Reclaim/repair won't do it, but nuking my commander (and a bot factory) will ;^)
Deleting a factory won't do it, I don't know if deleting a single com will do it, but if you create a chain reaction of comsplosions then it will do it.
Game freezing every time between 4:30 and 6:00. It seems to correlate with a metal low announcement. The freeze is happening when the first shot is fired. 5:30 exactly 2:18 When first bombs were dropped. 2:05 When first bombs were dropped. 1:54 7 bombs dropped. Beginning to think it has something to do with projectile collision detection. 8:33 I built nothing but Eco structures game froze again at projectile collision.
Minor point: usually if I leave a game for any reason, I'll get removed by UberNet within a few minutes. I'm often coming back at least 15 minutes later and getting the reconnect dialog.
Guys - as I said in my last post last night - it's freezing for everyone. This is not driver specific. There is a gnarly problem we're trying to track down. We don't know how this happened, though in most instances, I can usually see why. I don't want to revert the build until I understand how this is happening in the first place, as it shouldn't be possible. More soon.
Based on my testing the crash has something to do with projectile collision detection. At least that is when the crash manifests.
Sorian investigated, and it looks like it was an infinite while loop. We'll get a new build published asap. Still really want some serious testing on this if we can.
Are you sure? that AI of yours is very sneaky... perhaps it has created a man-machine interface and is now controlling you without you even knowing... the end is near
You have 331.79 now because it pulled those from xorg-edgers as well. If you want to go back to the way it was before you added the PPA, you'll need to do "sudo ppa-purge xorg-edgers". Although I suppose .79 is even more stable
