I don't think we should be able to see enemy ammo bars.

You know, like the Uber Cannon ammo bar, or Umbrella ammo bar.

    What does everyone else think?

Hard to say... I'm going to side with "no" for now, but I could go either way...

Yeah. It's kinda one of those things were I can't exactly say why it should be removed, but it does seem like too much free intel without any clear explanation of why I can see its recharge rate.

    well just my opinion -
New players wouldn't even know what to do with that information (if they even notice it at all). So it doesn't aid accessibility.

So, does it add depth to gameplay? For experienced players it both gives away too much information about the status of an opponent's energy eco, and makes dodging uber cannons way too mindless.

So i lean towards no, it should stay hidden information

It's not an easy one because there are good arguments for hiding it but "what you see is what you get" is important too. It might depend on how important ammo bars end up being in the final game.

I am all for what you see is what you get. But does seeing the enemy's ammo bars fall under WYSIWYG?

We can't see the enemy's eco. So why can we see the enemy's ammo bar?

I agree...you shouldn't be able to see ammo bars. The only indication you should have is when the comm/turret/whatever doesnt shoot...then you can tell there running low on energy :)

Ammo bars should be linked to animations so that you can get some feedback on what a unit's state is, with or without the UI.

That's about halfway to seeing enemy energy income. So, probably not.

i think you dont need to know the what ammo the enemy has maybe only if you have a radar on that area or some new intel building for that

A visual reloading indicator could be cool.

And besides, all you need to do to see your opponents energy economy is to look at their power-plants.

But if they have some you don't know about, then the surprise could could be a problem.

I think the ammo bar should be hidden, simply because of:
We could estimate the ammo bars based on our visual analysis of their eco, but we shouldn't be handed the information.

Assuming you saw this in PTE test or a dev stream?.. Then maybe it is a bug? but if it ain't then i agree.. It is not info that should be available to the enemy.

Dude, really? Don't just come in here and promote your own thread, or if you want to at the very least provide some feedback, your thread and Brian's thread are not related.

I feel that they are, the info that is or isn't revealed hasn't been seriously been discussed on the forum yet. I want people to not forget that I have a debate up and running on the matter of icon blips specifically so as to put the same toys in one bag and join the wave of people who want to debate tactical information disclosure.

    This thread - ammo bars/indicators
Your thread - How radar works
I don't see the similarity besides information being revealed, but that would be like me posting who wants to play starcraft with me in PA general discussion, but by your logic its related because they are both rts's.

    - Peace out

I don't see the real issue with it being possible for the enemy to see.

One more thing, to answer Brian's question, no, we should not be able to see enemy ammo bars as we can derive our enemy's economic state from it.
