By the way... In a perfect world, everyone can read properly... until then, I'll leave this dessert here.

Just imagine that the ice biome is actually sugar. That can never be unseen now. Hehehe

On that note, a crystal planet would be cool. It could have huge spiky crystal formations everywhere.

This isnt just desert. Isnt this in reality actually old sea bed? unless im mistaken. But dont get me wrong, its awesome.

Old seabed + desert + a tiny bit of vegetation like we are seeing here.

Y'know, while on the topic of desert planet types, how awesome would it be to have Fallout-esque wasteland planet biomes?

Well if you go off of the older ones, and New Vegas, you just go back to square one... A desert. ;)

True, but if you go off of Fallout 3 (and 4, if we're to believe the rumors of it being in Boston) you get a destroyed city, or in PA's case, a destroyed planet filled with cities.
    Which is awesome.

I don't even like Fallout 3 as much as 2 or NV, but 3's setting was...

And the detail that went into it... Whew.

Can't wait for Fallout 4 omg!

Is Fallout 4 even happening anymore?

I mean neither Bethesda nor Obsidian has said anything about it, Obsidian has apparently been working on a "new IP" and Bethesda has pretty much just been publishing stuff from other companies for a while not making any games of their own.
I mean they could just be being VERY secretive about FO4, but the last game they made is 2 and a half years old, you'd think they'd throw us a bone by now.

It's especially weird since they didn't show at E3 this year, so we have literally nothing from them news-wise.

Not sure, but I remember the voice of three dog saying teasing something about Fallout 4 a while back. I REALLY hope it's happening, as if it's anywhere near what Skyrim was, in Fallout, oh boy will I have a good time.

    Give me my sprint Bethesda...

Nope. That thing is known as a cylinder. And that's also the shape which is used for weapon ranges. Remember the bug with the Anchors weapon range? Cylinder.

    that'd be pretty dope.

Maybe a variant of the earth biome that only occurs on a certain range of seeds?

I'd actually love to see frozen deserts.
The fact that you need a water lake on ice planets for it to be snowy and such is pretty disappointing :/

having hills, and mountains like that not to mention another color like that to break up the white and the blue, would also be amazing.

Really hope that sooner or later before release, we will be fighting on planets instead of round balls :) Its detail like this that will not only look good. but play an important part in combat, suddenly instead of just amoving and arallying, you would have to think about stuff, getting the high ground, choke points, and stuff.

No reason we couldn't have both types of desert for variation right? Personally I think just sand deserts are not interesting enough because it doesn't do any interesting things with the terrain on a tactical level. Unless vehicles could dig themselves into a sand dune and become stuck or move slower or something.
