Sometimes due to other buildings or pesky mountains, units don't roll off in the direction you want them to. Or maybe you need them to roll to a different direction. So I propose sticking them on a big turny thing like this house: Yay or nay?
It will be hard to pull off aesthetically. I think buildings should have a little bit more space around them - that would solve this problem too.
It would be nice to have terraforming abilities so you could reclaim the mountain. Similiar with what trees supposedly are supposed to be like, reclaim for little metal or keep them for protection. Large scale terraforming would probably be too heavy processing wise though.
There's no need. Set the rally point of your factories to the other side and they'll roll off on the other side. There's two directions that units can rolloff. So there's no need to rotate the already built factory.
I've never seen this not work. Want units to come out on the other side? Set the waypoint on the other side of the factory. Works 100% of the time. Also, shouldn't we get pathing improved rather than add a game mechanic that won't be needed once the game is finished? Pathing is improving with pretty much every build.
And just to be sure, you build the factory to face in any direction by clicking and dragging (the direction of drag effects rotation) IIRC
