This is a ridiculously good score. Normally with scores in games/movies you may get a couple that are good but the rest are pretty much just filler. This on the other hand is just glorious throughout.

Does any body else feel like the PA sound track has the same problem as the supcom sound track, what with it all being rather the same operatic theme over and over again?

I dunno, it does get kinda bland after a while to hear the same kinda theme remixed over and over again.

Not that it's lacking in quality at all.

that's from the page you linked............................ so did you or didn't you read it? I'm finding you hard to believe.

    ....it's obviously not.

to me perhaps but considering noone in that thread realized it was a troll (except for Annatar) I was assuming you were in the same case.

the base rule is you can never assume someone on internet will get your sarcasm.

    No... he's Brad Nicholson.

    The scale goes like this:

Brad Nicholson > Bruce Lee > Chuck Norris > Awesome > Great > etc...

haha well you got that one on the button! I was too eager i guess. I tried to download this at work to no avail. HOWEVER!!!!!!! I am home now, and I cant play it loud enough! MUST BE LOUDER!!! FEEL the bass of the tanks rolling by on their parade of death, decay and destruction!

p.s. i have decided to mulch my gardens this year in shredded enemy tank parts. Happy hunting all!

What I enjoy is being able to whistle to the tunes, quite challenging due to the different instruments used.
Rhiza's Offensive is favourite, will have to try out if I can whistle to any of Howards PA songs

    So, about them lyrics...

Listen to "Mechanisms of War"... It's pretty obvious that they're saying "Lorem Ipsum" at around 1:20.

I am extremely, extremely disappointed, being a Catholic with a great love for the language and chant.

Regardless, the soundtrack is great, but this is a disgusting mar that the words have no substantial meaning.

    I think that's a bit too strong.

I don't mind honestly, since this soundtrack is meant to contribute to the mood of a game. I don't think it's a massive problem if the lyrics of the chorus is just some nonsense, instead of something meaningful in a language very, very few players understand in writing, not to mention spoken or in song.

It's a funny little detail nothing more.

If anything it's double appropriate for robot vocalists to be chanting lorem ipsum. Maybe they've got clippy there too, and all their signs are written in godawful wordart with clipart pictures next to them.

My feeling, too. It makes for nice background music but it lacks major defining features that would make it interesting to listen to on its own.

i don´t realy know but can you compare such a soundrack to say something like
soundtrack you hear in the radio be it lyrical or purely instumental? i mean such a soundtrack like the PA one is specifically made to evoke an atmospheric touch to the game to add to the experience similar to movies while the other is simply there to acusticaly entertain you ...

Who are you to say how I ought to feel, or how I ought to incline my tastes, or how I would ordinally rank these things in my subjective evaluation? You are not I, surely, then how can you say it is too strong, or is my opinion not in accord with some morally binding law or objective aesthetic principle of how to feel about music?

If anything, my taste is in parallel with objective aesthetic principles. Meaningful language is more noble, and elevates the art of the piece more, I'd say, than gibberish or something completely unrelated. I must insist on this truth as readily-evident with any examination of the great works of song.

If, then, there are no objective aesthetic principles, I refer you above, who are you to judge my subjective evaluation?

And, like I said, it's still good.

please calm down, he didn´t tell you at all how to feel but merely stated his opinion .. there is no need to be aggresive like that
