Weird, I can't click the ACCEPT button anymore on the EULA screen. I get this error in the terminal window: Code: /home/jarno/Games/PA/host/CoherentUI_Host : symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gvfs/libgvfscommon.so: undefined symbol: g_type_add_instance_private This is on Kubuntu 13.10. Maybe it's time to upgrade to 14.04.
Ah, is that the same one? I don't get a black screen and a different library is indicated in the crash.
The new build notes say that the patch fixes the ui lag, but I'm still getting it just as bad as before. The game has become unplayable for me in any competitive way since the GW update, so I'm hoping this is the top priority.
Heh, you're right. Copying back the old host directory from the previous build (66567) into the current build gives me a working version of PA. (Cool! Voice-overs work now.)
I'm having trouble with one of my galactic wars. This existed already in the first galactic war build, but I had hoped it would be fixed in this update, though it still persists. The problem is that the system does not seem to be able to generate the planets in one of the battles. It's a 3 or maybe 4 planet system with a boss, but I just sit forever and wait at the loading screen. Eventually I get disconnected from the server. Is there anything that can be done about this?
I think it's planned that way, as soon as you land on a system, you automatically scout the adjacent systems that were out of sight, we can't just have the player flying all over them map scouting all the planets, they would have to attack a system to get deeper into enemy space presumably.
What is the ETA on loading & saving games? I hate to crash when the boss fights in Galactic Wars are almost finished.
EDIT: IN GW If you jump back to an planet you just conquered you get stuck in it. Exit + save and reconnect unblock it.
Since the newest update my PA doesn't work at all. I can go into the game but with MP it's always hanging "loading system" and with galactic war it's always hanging at "configuring landing zone". It's a real bummer, I so badly want to play it, but I just can't.
We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
Played foresty planet and pathfinding was pretty bad. Half of my fabbers were stuck. Tried to flank using teleporter but that damn quantum mechanic machine didn't work. Deployed another teleporter to random location (which didn't help me to flank, only turtle) and that machine of doom worked well. It wasn't lack of energy nor metal. It feels that for me UI lag is reduced a bit. Thought it still exists. Playing against Uber 1,5xAI, lag starts to hit somewhere in 10-20mins of time.
Was it the fact that trees are solid now? Some pathing might seem a bit weird now that sufficiently dense trees can effectively act as walls.
Well, it might be that my fabbers began to practise tree hugging. Stucked fabbers were dancing around in a very small circle. When I ordered them to move, they started to move till they find another tree to hug. Most of the times this happened when they finished building and (tried) to start to move to another massive building project.
Looks like when I start GW with Synchronous faction and with Commander Commander loadout - game not starts. Just black screen. Music playing, game is not frozen, but nothing happening, no matter how long I wait.
Two GW bugs: 1. Managed to have me and an AI subcomm build a metal extractor on one metal spot at the same time 2. Starting with the orbital loadout (no regular factories) breaks your subcomms. Poor guys.
