It sounds like you've found your problem at least. One thought if you want to get things running before Tuesday... Have you considered dual booting you're machine with linux? If you have a reasonable chunk of hdd space available you could chuck ubuntu on there without disturbing Windows, and then install the linux version of pa....

not half bad of an idea. Can't believe i didn't suggest it. And linux won't give you stupid ram limitations.

I don't want linux. however, in the long run, it doesn't sound like a bad idea. I do have 1.5Tb of storage, so I could do that easily.

So there are to places mods can exist for PA:

    1) C:\Users\{{username}}\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\mods
These are shadowed files. This lets you mod any data file in PA. This includes UI files. These files are shared between all copies of PA... and as a result if you ever installed mods here they can persist between clean installs of PA.

    2) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Planetary Annihilation\media\ui\mods
These are UI modes. They modify the stock UI without completely overwriting it. To use these mods you have create a file named 'ui_mod_list.js' in the 'ui\mods' folder.

To ensure that there are no mods active, please go to both these locations and either delete or archive the files there. If you are not using Steam, you will have to find the \Planetary Annihilation\media\ui\mods directory relative to you PA installation.

I really hope that there are mods installed, because if you are having this bug without any mods installed things will be a lot harder to debug. Incidentally, this has convinced me to setup up a 'disable mods' setting.

If you still having trouble, I'll need to see the JS errors.
    1) Start PA and create a game versus the AI.

    2) Start the Coherent Debugger. When you start it up, you have to enter a URL and then press 'Go'. The default URL is probably correct, but if you have messed with the debugger previously it might be wrong. The URL should read:
    http://127.0.0.1:9999

    3) After you hit 'GO' a list of pages should appear. For the current version on Steam, my list reads:
    Planetary Annihilation Main
    Live Game: Economy Bar
    Cursor Atlas
    Live Game
Live Game: Corner Hover Detail Bar
    Icon Atlas
    Special Icon Atlas
    Building Planets

You should click on the one that reads 'Live Game'.

    4) There should now be a list of tabs that reads:
Elements, Resources, Network, Sources, Timeline, Profiles, Audits, Console

You should click on that reads 'Console'. It might already be selected.

    5) Select your commander. Hopefully, there are some error messages in the console. Post a screenshot. If there are no error messages there are other things that we can look at, but this is the best place to start.

Thank you. I did as you suggested. I searched my computer for any remaining Mod files, (edit: I just found the Local files with a Mods folder inside... getting rid of it now.)
I also ran the debugger as you suggested.
I noticed a few error messages, would you like me to post screen shots?

I just deleted the entire Mod Folder, and am doing a fresh install of the game.

Disable mods option? Awesome. Good innovation.
