    Hi there,

I recently bought MNC on PC. I already love this game but it isn't flawless. The lack of mods is one of them.

As it seems players can't mod or do some maps, I fear the game getting empty with time.

So here is an idea of a new mod, that I think it can fit perfectly MNC rules.
It ain't an exclusive mod, I've seen it in a warcraft3 map (can't remember the name) and a TF2 map uses it as well (pl_waste)(without bots waves and with TF2 payload rules).

Here are the main rules :

    -Bot waves (same as crossfire)
    -2 bases
In the middle of the map, there is a cart or any other movable thing. The aim is to escort that to a defined point in the opponent base.
To escort the cart, players (or bots) need to stand near it and with no opponents in the range of the cart.
As long as there are both teams near the cart, it doesn't move.

It could be interesting as all players have to get on the same objective, good way to have some intense 6vs6 clashes.

Feel free to tell me what you think about it (either devs / players) ;)

I got a better idea. All players on MNC fight off an army of juicebot (fruit fuckers) along with fruit fucker prime. :D

Honestly I'm surprised noone has made a MNC style map for TF2. the capabilities are all there with some experience with the Hammer Editor.

Anyone remember that video of the Laser Cat boss? I bet you could do something similar for the bot waves / Moneyball. The only real catch is doing turret purchases / skill purchases. I bet that could be handled via a sourcemod plugin to give some sort of monetary system.

Too bad that the UDK and Hammer follow entirely different design principles. The skills don't really transfer unless you're dedicated.

Well for one thing the UDK is a full Dev Kit, Hammer is merely the map maker for the Source SDK. However with Sourcemod you could create a skill system. Look at things like those Roll the Dice servers, or the prop hunt mod. There is a lot you can do with Sourcemod if you know what ur doing.

honoustly dude, look at the name, sourcemod, meaning it's for source games, not unreal games, otherwise i would've already had a dozen mods out by now

Both Demystificator and Mibuwolf have ideas that I now want to see put into practice.

    Jessep!

I don't have UnrealED 3 and we'll need the MNC Entities to create a correct MNC map (without remodding the UE). So Uber Entertainement shall release tools kit to allow a better community support.

I worked on some UT2K4 maps times ago. I'd learn to use UnrealEd3 if needed and if Uber Ent allows to do maps.

Moreover, I really like the style of MNC Maps : no many textures/entities to focus on gameplay. I was always bored to create architectural effects/decorations in maps even if the gameplay was good.

I really hope there'll be a way for us to add content to MNC cause it doesn't deserve to die because of lack of maps/mods.

On topic of the mod idea:

Unfortunately, what you've described is the core concept of crossfire. Though the idea is less visible in MNC, the principles are there - stand near an object - the bot lanes - and push your way into the other team's base. The objective in this case is the point where the bots meet, as without player interference, this point will remain static, like the objectives in other such modes. In a way, this concept already exists!

Ofc the concept is close to the crossfire one.

In every games, mods have both common rules and differences.

The main difference doesn't stand in the concept but in the gameplay.

In crossfire, Bots ways never cross and never get to the middle of the map. So you can choose to push one way or the other. The mod I suggest won't let you that choice. In order to win, you'll need to get a given way where all bots meet giving more roaring fights and, in a point of view, less tactics.

I don't pretend to renew the game, just change a little the gameplay to avoid getting bored of CF mod.

I thought about a mod that keeps bots lanes because it is part of MNC. Removing them will kill the game and you can't do a lot of mods with them without giving them a better AI, that requires more work, so you'll need to be confident that your mod will rock.
