The field of view of my eyes is more like widescreen and not like a portrait. That's why people like widescreens in the first place, isn't it?

I have the same issue, my res is 1280x1024. The only thing Uber needs to do to fix the problem is instead of cutting the sides of the picture off, they need to add to the top and bottom of the picture.

This is why I said little and not no down side. But human vision is not all that much wider though (4:3.075).

Problem is still present when playing in 1280x720 in windowed mode.

Welcome to Minecraft, where every update breaks redpower and you go cry to Elorian to patch it for years and years.

No seriously, patches break mods, sad.

My external monitor is in portrait; I mainly use it for code editor and document reading. I ran PA a few times, but ended up going back the smaller one for general performance reasons.

Yeah I said "play". I can understand why you would do those things in portrait mode.

I didn't really call out that flipping it back and forth would be kind of a pain. Probably need to rearrange my desk to make it practical, and then I have to tell the OS every time, etc.

Really, it breaks UI. Meaning, some buttons hang off the side.

Right now, there are no mods that change it that I am aware of. If it were happening to me, I would go directly into the files and start cutting some space off some HTML pages that generate the game, the game is just webpage code.

So basically, it is in fact below minimum requirement, I think I have seen people run the game though, but beware as the OP posted that the edges will cut sometimes.

To everyone that has problems with the UI at abnormal resolutions, pm me your resolution and when I have time I will make a mod that supports that resolution to the best of my ability.

I suppose many players will be really pleased if you adjust current UI for 1024x768 because Uber don't support this one and people with this res just can't play PA at all.

Maybe it is possible to set some quick global css something that scales down the whole UI?
Actually any normal browser has zoom setting, can that be controlled from inside the js layer of coherent?

Yes "zoom" supported as far as I know. Unfortunately somebody have to maintain such mod and make sure all important information is remain readable.

Hmm, gonna google a bit, I think if it really is possible to quickly set some zoom it should not be hard to build it in a general way that is very unlikely to every break again.
