Well, I can connect to a server and play for 10-30 seconds, but then something happens. It's like I disconnect from the server, but I'm still in it. Players and bots continue to move in the direction they were moving until they hit an obstacle, then they just walk into it. I can't interact with anything in the server. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? It's happened on every server I have tried so far. I am on a wireless connection. I tried playing wired and that did help for about half an hour, then I started getting the same problem again.
This also seems to be happening for me, If someone knows of any resolution for it please post it =) this game is wicked except for this issue.....
I also have this issue, play for about 60 seconds then i stop hearing the sounds of players shooting, stuff starts running in to walls etc.. Let me know if there is anything i can provide to help you track this problem down. The weird thing is that sometimes it's fine, for hours..
I have exact the same problem. I bought and downloaded the game by steam. Single Player ist no problem at all. My other steam games can be played online without any problem or lag. In my case I can play about 30 seconds until everything stopps like described before. I also can't shoot, use skills anymore or interact with the area. While others freeze or run always the same direction I can move free through the place. Monday Night Combat seems like fun therefore I'd love to play it. ;-)
If you all post details of your routers then you'll almost certainly find that you all have Thomson or rebadged Thomson routers (BT Homehub, o2 Wireless box, BeBox, etc). There is a faulty rule on the router which causes this behaviour with Steam games. You can read this thread: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/s ... hp?t=38891 for details and a possible fix. The workarounds are one of the following: Wait longer than 60 seconds after refreshing the server list before joining a server Add servers to your favourites, and then use the favourites list to join servers rather than the internet list (you will have to wait 60 seconds after getting into the multiplayer menu to join but you can refresh the favourites list as close to joining as you like) Once you have the issue in-game, access the console with the ` key (above tab) or the ' key, and type "reconnect" without the quotes and press enter. You may have to do this twice, but this will reconnect you to the server and you will not have the issue again until you try to join a different server. Some have said that adding the MNC ports to their port forwarding has fixed things for them so you could also try that.
Like I said. When I play other games (left4dead, left4dead 2, alien swarm) over steam it works without any problems. Only Monday Night Combat doesn't work.
@Morello Your telnet fix worked beautifully, thank you. ( BeBox fyi xD ) @Dreizehn I too have been able to play most steam games without issue, though i do recall having this happen in tf2 once or twice a long time ago. Maybe you could try it?
same thing happens to me, i am forced to just reconnect 1 game and then i am fine.....until i get my new modem telnet didnt work for me default passwords failed
Tikki - which router do you have? If you do have one of the affected routers, and you can get to the username / password screen then we should be able to find the admin password somewhere. Moggy - you're welcome, enjoy! Dreizehn - if you do have one of the routers I have listed, or any other that is actually a Thomson, then it will definitely be the problem. Certain Steam games use a different port for their masterservers so therefore don't have the problem. If it isn't one of these routers then something else is causing you to disconnect.
Thanks. I have been trying to play online for the last 2 days. I don't know why but today it works although I havent't changed anything.
speedtouch 536 it says this is the name though ST5x6v6 but i think its a 536v6 mines just a modem but when i try the user: admin and don't enter a password it just says login not allowed that that user admin is disallowed to login from lan to telnet. edit: checked the user and pass, both were admin i tried and it said the same thing
Bump, what could this problem be caused by? I made sure to open the correct ports and disable my firewall. My router is a Westell D90-327W11-06 (at least, I think that's the name...).
Ok, kinda embarrassing, but I realized that I hadn't restarted my computer in a couple days, and I figured it couldn't hurt.....so I restarted, and MNC now connects fine! .....well, to Crossfire at least. Still haven't managed to join a Blitz game again, and I've been trying believe me. Edit: And just as quickly, it stops connecting the next time I start the game.... :x
Tikki, try Administrator and no password. If you got it from your ISP then they might have the username and password, or you can google the router and ISP and telnet and it might lead you to an answer. Salad Snake - I have no experience with Westell devices so am not sure what the issue is.
The way it plays the game music (as if you joined the server) for a second on the loading screen makes me think that this is a problem with lagging out or freezing when you join the server. Perhaps it's due to performance reasons? I mean, my comp makes the minimum specs but barely, and if I drop down to 10 FPS when I refresh the server browser, the moment when I connect to server must be even worse... To the people with this problem, how are your PC's specs compared to the min requirements? Further edit: I wonder if Uber is going to try and fix this or if this is going to have to be figured out on our end....
I hate to double-post, but this is the only problem I see getting absolutely NO attention on these forums. I do not have a thompson router, and I still cannot connect to any online games. This occurs even when disabling both my computer and router firewall.
Assuming you're with O2, try this: Username: SuperUser Password1: O2Br0ad64nd Password2 (if above doesn't work): Enter the serial number on the bottom of your router (also shown on your router's information page when you go to http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/info/?be=0&l0=0&l1=0)
nah i am with iprimus, but it seems that they locked it but im getting a new one in a week anyway so i won't have to worry about it, it seems to be working fine so i will last for a week
