    Edit:
Just realised that you may have your formatting mixed up(quotes are under the wrong names for everyone there)

He mentioned on Twitter a few days ago that he's made a lot of improvements to the AI recently.

They have already said that custom commanders will be functionally identical. they could make one that uses a volley of missiles for the Uber cannon or something like that but the differences will be just cosmetic.

that the differences would be cosmetic only is not what I've heard, what I've heard is they'd balance different stats like speed, splash, DPS, ect...

but if what you say is true then I'm happy.

I wont make any more posts in this thread about microtransactions after this. But another one of my main concerns was the fact that KNight suggested a store where people could sell mods. I just don't agree with that idea and think that if people want to make money off their mods then they should either a) use adfly links or b) go make their own game or get involved with the development of another game.

I dislike people making money from modifications . . . but why, oh god why, do you think adverts of any kind are better?

well at least its only a one time thing and we dont have to shell out yet more money from our pockets. and adfly doesnt provide adverts ingame, its only a 5 second add before you get to the download link. So it's not like its an inconvenience to us, and those mod devs who absolutely have to get paid for modding get a bit of money. Its a win win situation.

A five second delay, possibly with popups, is an inconvenience.

This is from someone who doesn't use adblock because he supports the use of adverts that keep sites alive. I don't see the need for adverts embedded with download links, however.

I don't see the need for them either, but you have to think of it as the lesser of two evils.

Possibly. You're leveraging a third-party service (who earns money themselves) to grant modders money if people can be bothered to wait through the advert-based link.

You may find that less people use your mods if you just use adfly (or similar) links, and you may find that people host your content elsewhere.

It also doesn't work if any serious modification integration is done by Uber with regards to the PA platform.

Yeah I thought that "big rock" feature was supposed to come last week? Was there a delay, or was I misinformed?

A store for mods is a great idea. Mods can and will go far beyond what we have now. Total conversions will suck up thousands of hours of dev time, and if the dev wants to try and sell it why not? What if it was worded as developing another game, using the PA engine? I'd pay for an epic campaign. I imagine the store would be like PAMM, just with some pay-for mods too and a filter to see free/pay only. And if you need a pay-for mod to play a game you just tried to connect to in the lobby, it would take you to the mods page to read about it.

Money is just another form of motivation. People will still make mods for the fun, the challenge, the appreciation, the community, ...

I also thought the "Big Rock" would surface last week. Brad's weekly update mentioned the 15th for Toy Rush launch. Reading it again, looks like they hard at work, on the "Big Rock", but no eta.

This post explains exactly what I expect to see. The mod marketplace won't be for little mods like what we have now. It's going to become really useful when new dev teams start making whole new games on the PA engine. I wouldn't be very likely to pay for a mod like any of the ones I've made, but another new game built on the PA engine? Take my money!
