I got tired of the limits of only having a single pip for cases when you just want to watch some scouts flying around the planet, so I'm trying to come up with a better way to follow scouts. By default, the mod listens for CTRL+T and opens a new pip set to track the currently selected unit. You can change the key bind in settings, though. By design, you can't interact with these pips. I understand that some people might want to be able to do that, so I will consider making an "unlock" option to let you control the pip. The big problem with that is that you would lose the ability to drag it around the screen if you can interact with it, so I think it is fine for monitoring scouts. Now with zoom buttons! Twitch: Showing off the Tracking pip mod Not compatible with Draggable Pip yet.
Yeah I normally open the window select scout and then track. A one button mod for this would be perfect. But I would rather be able to use the pip than to drag the screen. Ok it's good for just scouting, but the scout doesn't need to die and then it works nice with other units too. Just my few cents worth.
Ah ok, this makes more sense as giving a toggle command on one of your pips would get funky. Is the uber pip still available when using this?
Updated to v1.1.0 Added a zoom button to toggle tracking pips between "surface" and "air" level zoom. I wonder what happens with orbital...
Updated to v1.2.0 I added a status indicator in the bottom left corner that turns red when the unit dies. It might be a little broken since there seems to be a bug with capturing the death alert, but let's try it out for now.
I have an issue with this mod where if I ctrl+t it opens the window, however, fully zoomed out of the planet and not tracking the unit. Could someone confirm this glitch or how I could fix this?
Quick question, why is the keybind in the UI tab of the setttings menu? I got really confused by that when I was trying to resolve my keybind conflicts with it.
I'm so sorry I missed this post! Are you still having this issue? If so, what steps should I try to reproduce it? Is resolution scaling on? Are you trying it with orbital units? Are you trying it on units moving between planets? Is just one unit selected when you press ctrl+t? That's a lot of questions, sorry. Sorry about that. I got lazy and used raevn's Settings Manager mod, which doesn't seem to allow adding items to the keyboard tab.
