The AI is trying to nuke my orbital units. Had to micro my fabbers when rebuilding mex and other things. They are not auto reclaiming for some reason. Eventually had to send a team of combat fabbers to mop up an entire dead base to build in the area.
Can you make sure you aren't running any icon mods and that "Show Metal Spot Icons" is turned on in the UI options? Do you have HDR disabled? What about Ambient Occlusion? If HDR is enabled (or disabled) does changing it mid-game change anything? Does it change if you restart the game with those new settings?
All mods are disabled and i triple checked the UI options. I have no health bars except for orbital units under construction when viewed from a specific height. Ground units icons are displayed in the celestial view. Construction units are bugging when building (at least) an orbital laucher. If they are far from the construction site, they will come closer and start assisting with intervals of 0.5 seconds of assisting and pausing. If i move them closer, it's fine. I couldn't get a screenshot when they are in the pause behavior but you can see the messy nanolathe spray from the commander. The lava keeps not being lighted by the sun with low, medium, high, uber gfx. AO on and off, HDR on and off. Occasionally, i have the black sun bug. I'd say ~one in five games. I think i should do my computer upgrade faster
My PA keeps crashing i dont know what the problem is, i think it is lag but if it isnt please tell me how to fix it
Thirded with the irritating engi bug. They start and stop constantly. Also - I think we need to talk about Anchors.
I'm getting the engie bug as well. It reminds me of trying to assist orbital units with ground fabricators. My guess is that they stop at their max range from the factory horizontally but try to aim into the centre of whatever they wish to assist; if it's elevated, it's out of range as a result. That's just a guess based on trying to assist orbital and the fact that this issue usually comes up with tall or elevated structures / units (when assisting). Also, I once had an anchor start slowly floating up into space, but I'm not sure how to reproduce it
oh okay, well I recall hearing about it, so maybe it was in a developer build stream that we don't have yet. Maybe that's why they are attacking the orbitals with nukes, because the AI has been coded to do it for the other build? This sort of thing isn't my forte, so it could just be a bug

Can you post screenshots of your UI settings. I'm thinking it's some specific combination of settings causing the issue.
I wish I could get these bugs so I could try to reproduce them... I get black sun occasionally. But it has been two builds since I very last remember it, so I am not so sure. I just know I was getting it a lot more a bit before that.
Here they are. I also noticed the "Show terrestrial" option for the first time. I assume it deals with seeing the unit icons in celestial view. (Which it still showed them with the "Range dependant" option) Zweistein000, I notice you have an orange border on your UI tab. Weird
Those red areas are just no-build zones I think, or maybe they represent the boundary between 'land' and 'sea' buildings. All I know is that they only appear to have an effect on building placement, while the important boundaries for land and sea pathing is the green boundary.
