The north and south pole icons are VERY annoying, especially when you spawn on the poles. They get in the way a lot and they look kinda bad at times, especially when seeing a lovely planet rise only for it to have two random letters around it, it just looks awkward. Not to mention, they're anti-useful. An option to turn them off would be HEAVILY appreciated. Am I the only one who thinks this?
Edit them in the icons in the ui folder in the PA folder. Anyone with mild problems with the way the display for the game looks, should start thinking "coherently"... Edit: Shoot, it is a texture in .papa format, you need a tool to do it but it can still be done.
I remember that was discussed earlier. Found it : https://forums.uberent.com/threads/s-and-n-marks-super-awkward.58122/#post-900761 Have to try it out myself, been annoyed by that more than a few times
I've never really noticed to tell you the truth. Building at the poles and using "N" to align is pretty disorientating though.
Good idea! I removed them entirely. don't care much for an up or down anyhow, it's just clutter and hindrance, I spread and consume my enemies in ALL directions ! but I agree, other then them not being particularly pretty (and less so than the Alpha ones, I'll add) they don't resize and don't dissapear and they especially should in the case of planets you're not working on.
I am considering making a Celestia and Luna icon for north and south. Yes, that in fact doesn't make any sense but I want to do it anyway. Might make bar magnet tips too. Would be nice to contribute some sort of reskins lol. EDIT: They are probably DXT1 or 5, meaning they won't import. Lol. Meh.
In a way it could make sense. Celestia being the north pole, the one everyone remembers and Luna the south the one that's never brought up.
I think the simplest solution would be to have them fade out when you zoom in to a certain level. Maybe have them reappear at about orbital shell level. EDIT: Unrelated question - is there a hotkey to re-align poles if you have pole lock off? In case you get disoriented, you know? Sometimes spawning at the poles makes navigation rather annoying since you get "stuck" on this wall at the pole, but turning pole lock off always makes me get lost.
