I sooooooooooooooo want the asteaeus to be a space rocket!

Built on the planet. Can only be used once. Maybe have an advanced version to carry 20 or 30 tanks.

I really want the Astraeus to be a 1 way unit as well.

Makes orbital more of an effort and would allow us to lower the cost of the Astraeus so they can be even better used as a drop pod for invasions.

Imagine hundreds of Astreuses coming down in the middle of your base full of units. Would be so epic.

The astraeus should remain as a orbital transport, but can't transport com. Orbital rocket would be cool as a 1 way unit only (as brian said) for the com or maybe even a megabot.. :D

I agree that the Aestereus should be one-way.

don't think that they should be one way. We'll be getting unit cannons eventually and those will be one way.

I am liking the style your taking.
would love bigger ships maybe even one that can be built in orbit to transport army's, depending on the cost to unit ratio.

Astreaus could be kept as is, but not allowed to descend to any orbital body that can't be shifted with Halleys (it's always bugged me that it launches on a rocket but then ascends/descends under it's own power, I've always assumed it's a temporary workaround.)

For getting a mass of units out of a big gravity well you'd build a rocket
    [IMG]
It rolls off your Orbital factory, you fill it with 10 or so units and launch it wherever it is going.

have it actualy be like in the ks trailer were the austreus requiers a launchplatform to leave a planet
that way you could have more austreuses and still reuse them like spaceshuttles
the austreus capsule doesn´t have to become unuseable after one transport

I don't see why that would be an issue.......

Anyone else noticed the Astreus can pick up T2 air fabbers?

if you guys say one way what exactly do you mean by that ... shall the austreus be useable more often or a one of thing?
if the later what aside from a possibly higher rate in sending units to a place would be the difference between the unitcannon and the orbital launcher?

Your assuming the Unit Cannon and the Astreaus both fill the same, as evidenced by the link I posted earlier, I don't think that should be the case.

Yeah, because it's only relevant if you feel the Astreaus and the Unit Cannon fill the same role.

Don't pin this on me man, you asked the question after I said they don't fill the same role, thus trying to directly compare hem isn't really useful.

Have you read the thread I linked to earlier?

what about the ASCENding part? isn't that even crazier.

listen by your own logic it shouldn't even be able to do that.

Orbitals enough an effort as it is, adding more tedious micro is not the way to go in making PA fun.

At that point, is the Astraeus really an orbital unit thought? In the end it's probably not really any more micro intensive than the teleporter no?
