Black boxes, cursor box

I am running the game on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Planetary Annihilation starts properly and I can create a game.
However, my cursor has a black box surrounding it and some of the objects in the game are just black boxes, like metal.

It was working fine a few hours ago, not sure why this is happening now. I haven't updated any drivers.

It's because the Coherent UI itself still runs on the Intel card and there is a bug in Mesa that causes the cursor to be wonky. It's a random effect though, so sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. There is a mod that fixes that. See this post. Alternatively, you can follow the original instructions. It does the same thing as the mod.

So I didn't have to use the mod. Everything works now, except for Steam Overlay which seems to be a problem with Bumblebee.
