$50 2v2 Tournament

i dont want to win, i just want to have some exciting games.

Not if flop and I beat you in round 1

Ok scratch that- the standings have all changed!

Important Notes :

Everybody that shows up with a full team on the right time can play.
If we have more than 16 teams some teams will get an automatic bye, see reason here.
The teams that get an automatic bye will be chosen based on the summarized 1v1 score of the whole team.
So Teams like VWS / HashCookies / Super Godde Bros will start in round 2 in place of round 1. I already arranged the brackets using my knowledge of the teams. I haven't done a correct calculation yet so brackets can still change, but you get the idea. (See Brackets)

Requirements :
- Have PAStats installed and enabled (shouldn't be a problem everyone has it it seems)
- Be in IRC on the right time (channel will follow)
- Please prefix your IRC name with your (TeamName) so we can see who's there and who is not asap. ex: (HashCookies) Cola_Colin
- Have Fun

More teams? Awesome! Byes based on 1v1 rating in a 2v2 tournament... ummmm?

2v2 ELO is somewhat random and not as controlled as 1v1 ELO is. You could have a high 2v2 elo by being carried by another player, or a low 2v2 ELO because you have horrible teammates. 1v1 ELO is based entirely off of your skill.

Postfix, not prefix. Prefixing names with that sort of thing is horrible if you are trying to use tab to autocomplete names.

I understand your concern but think this is better for the tournament. It is to accommodate more teams that had wanted to join but were late. It will give the below average player a better experience and the above average a better chance of making it further. It is double elimination after all.

Let's look at it from the more fair side. We do it random. Your team is below average and get a first round bye. Pretty high chance you get beaten second round, then you are paired against stronger "losers" maybe even extremely strong because they could have also been beaten by a stronger team.

Tournament have shown that the teams with the better 1v1 players have always done well in this type of tournament. I have been to all 6 team finals with six different partners of different skill levels.

To be honest I would rather a first round game. To see how much spam neptunio is going to bring to the table so I can try work around it before and of we get onto the further rounds.

But prefix makes it much, much easier to identify the relevant parties in IRC since they're all sorted into the same place.

Well, we will check by the tags. It is actually easy to see if a team is present.

No, the byes are based on the sign up order
HashCookies was the first team to sign up, so when the challonge had 17 players, HashCookies would be the first team to receive a bye
when the challonge has 18 players, the second team that signed up (Super Godde Bros) will receive a bye, and so on

HashCookies btw is looking for a replacement for Matiz, as he won't be able to play :/
