Could you please implement the 2560x1440 Resolution? 2560x1600 is there but not the resolution i need for my display. MNC looks quite bad when not displayed in the native resolution. Seems the game does not support 2560x1440 'cause fiddling with the .ini files (as suggested in the official pc issue thread) does nothing (it just overwrite the setting with the last used supported resolution) or crashes the game.
Make sure the .ini file you're editing is something like: \Users\<yourname>\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\HostileGame\Config\HostileEngine.ini If you modify the ini files in the actual game folder (steam\steamapps\...) then yeah, it might dislike that and crash
Not really true. You can edit base and default ini files in steamapps and it'll work just fine unless the values aren't supported.
Tried both. Editing in \Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\HostileGame\Config\HostileEngine.ini resulted in no change at all, as the game when started just resets the values to the last used supported resolution. I edit the file, start the game, no change at all, when i open the .ini file again the values next to Resx and Resy are just like before editing (reset to the old values supported by the game). ... and yeah editing in steam\steamaps\... resulted in crashing. I just saw they added a new Resolution in the latest update. I hope they can add 2560x1440 too as it look a bit shitty with a non-native resolution + no anti-aliasing.
Changing the ini file in the My Games folder should work. The options menu itself will only show the resolutions it knows, so if you set a custom resolution and use the options menu to check it won't be correct. Also if you press accept in the options menu it will set your resolution to what ever the options menu is showing, even if you're not on the tab with the video settings. Another alternative is you can force the game to start in a specific resolution via steam's Launch Options. In Steam's Library, right click on Monday Night Combat and click on Properties. Then click on the "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..." under the general tab. This will pop up a text prompt. Add this line to that field -resx 2560 -resy 1440 The game will try to start at that resolution regardless of what the ini file has set, but as before the options menu will not show this resolution and pressing accept in that menu will change it.
