Should Firelflys (air scouts) be able to shoot after they land?

I just got trolled by a bunch of fireflys that landed in my base, I had some fighters, but they could not shoot the fireflys after they had landed.

I'm 50/50 on this. If they can fire after they land then it should take a little longer for them to land, or at the very lease be vulnerable to AA after they land.

Single laser turret costs 150 metal or you could use ground units or you could have had the fighters patrolling.

It's a little annoying but once you've had it happen it's pretty easy to counter.

Never mind Fireflys, I found that Hummingbirds can shoot when landed. Now that sucks balls.

But no, none of the air units should be able to fire while landed.

This wouldn't be a problem if fighters could hit ground targets.

This. Air vs air units should be able to attack other air units. It shouldnt matter of they are landed or not. It would also make new strategies possible that are quite similar to current military strategies. Like in a FFA one could do a pre emptive strike against landed aircraft.

I'm on the fence about whether air units should be able to shoot landed planes, due to the way it worked in SupCom. In that, a fighter could shoot any landed plane and this had unintended side effects such as fighters being able to quickly drop shields (irrelevant for PA), and also damage land units and buildings with missed shots (could well be an issue for PA).

Also from a believability point of view, how can you explain how a fighter can target a landed plane but not a 'landed' tank? It's easy to imagine that the plane's targeting system relies on being able to identify a moving object against a featureless sky, and that it is unable to identify targets when they are backdropped by land. However for a fighter to be able to target landed planes you have to imagine some mechanism that somehow defines a plane but cannot recognise a tank.

The first point is irrelevant due to previous changes (the inclusion of an armour type system).

The second point i find silly because after all, none of this is realistic, and its all about the gameplay. If shooting landed aircraft but not ground units leads to balanced gameplay, i dont see any reason not to do it.
